Visiting to assess this hotel for a future business meeting site, I was very pleased with the ambiance and staff professionalism.
This is not a high rise, mega-plex, super amenity, resort. This is a slice of history, with old time elegance of a smaller beachfront Inn tucked behind the dunes. Small parlor guest suites are comfortable but not lavish. The building's interior has been modestly renovated and they've retained much of the original design and features.
Event space is very nice with lots of options both in and out. Food and beverage is good, with a decent variety of choices. The upstairs penthouse bar/tapas area is "mod" which doesnt really fit with the 1920's decor of the inn, but it is a fun space. The tapas we tried were very good and the bar was stocked top shelf.
Four-poster bed was comfy and clean. HVAC was noisy but that's expected. Water pressure was weak and it took 5 minutes for water to heat up to the 3rd floor, but again not surprising and not a big deal.
If you want to go back in time and enjoy a place for what it was, then come here and appreciate this Inn. If you are into opulence go elsewhere. I will be bringing my Board here for an overnight stay and meeting. It is a perfect spot for their taste and interests.More
