With a generally flat terrain and many access points, the trail is an ideal venue for all skill and fitness levels of cycling, running, walking and skating an unpaved equestrian trail parallels portions of the paved trail. The trail corridor traverses three counties (Citrus, Hernando and Pasco), offering an enjoyable, varied journey as it runs through small towns, ranches and six distinct natural communities between Citrus Springs and Dade City. The gem of Florida if your a cyclist. well kept trail with nice views, trees, wildlife, we have seen gators, hawks, bobcats, turtles, rabbits all along the trail since 2006 when we started riding. I wish they had the money to connect it to the Chiefland trail through Dunnellon, but you know how state budgets are. This trail has a private group who helps with the upkeep.

So far we have started at the very end in Dunnellon, Holder, and Inverness. Our rides have always been fun and we will keep coming back. Everyone is very friendly. The trail seem to be well used by bikes, walkers, and inline skaters. There is a restroom available at the Dunnellon entrance.

Bikers beware, you will fall in love with this pristine paved go fast if you want to trail. Managed by DEP( Department of Enviornmental Protection, Greenways and Trails-who also manages State Parks) is a riders dream. Paved, speed, vistas...All you could want for a 46 mile plus ride. Hotels (Central Motel in Inverness, Moonrise Resort in Floral City) easy access and great for a weekend adventure. http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/state/with/default.htm
