The cabins are Beautiful. Modern Clean Spacious relaxing retreat. My family and I stayed there and drove to busch gardens and sea world. They are centrally located to both destinations and much cheaper then park properties. After a busy day at the parks Riverside Lodge was a nice quiet relaxing escape from all the rush near the parks. We met the owners their son & daughter all were exceptionally kind and generous.
I was shocked and impressed at the quality of the cabins. I would say as luxerious as the 5 Star Park properties. Clean fully stocked cabins.
If your looking for an amazing relaxing place to stay, Head to Riverside Lodge you wont be disappointed..
Thank You Riverside for having us. I look forward to visiting again next year!!

family went in our rv to the resort. the1st thing I noticed it was very small compared to the photos. Son & G.F. went to their cabin behind our rv. Walked up to use the pool & it was marked private property! So, we couldn't go swimming. The water behind Son's cabin was a deep shade of putrid green. Went to walk to their Discovery Island with our dogs. We had to navigate past some people who were spray cleaning some mobile homes and had their barking pit bull tied to their truck. I don't think some of their residents like to pick up after their dogs. Had to watch where I walked and one of my dogs didn't even want to step on the grass. The cabin did not have a shade to close on the door window. You could just look in. The hosts did an air conditioning check while our son was in the unit, instead of waiting until the next day when we would be gone. They just walked up to the door seeing it was occupied and when our son opened the door they proceeded to come in and walk to the bedroom to service the air conditioning. When we listed our complaints and left them at the office, the owner and son came to respond to our complaints. They were very rude and abusive. They do not have any customer service skills! They WERE defensive and did not offer to solve the situation. They did hose down one mound of dog poop! Their answer to checking the air conditioning while the unit was occupied, was that they did not just single out our unit. They didn't seem to understand that we were paying for privacy and were leaving the next day. Their answer on the swimming pool was that we should have asked? They said that maybe we could have worked something out. Why would we want to use their private pool?

This review is inaccurate and designed to harm our business in a spiteful way. We tried everything possible in the most polite way to satisfy the customers requests, only to get more negative responds.
The way that words are phrased In this review is twisting facts of a normal situation Into a inaccurate negativity.
The following sentences:
1 “I noticed it was very small compared to the photos”
makes it sound like we rigged our photos to trick someone
2 “Walked up to use the pool & it was marked private property!
so, we couldn't go swimming.
makes it sound like we are misleading customers
3 “We had to navigate past some people who were spray cleaning”
“navigate” not just walk by, to make it sound like the whole park is under construction with work being done every where”
4 “their barking pit bull tied to their truck”
“pit bull”, not just dog to make a six week old puppy sound bad
5 “Had to watch where I walked”
makes it sound like there is dog poop everywhere in our park
6 “one of my dogs didn't even want to step on the grass
makes it sound like our grass is not clean enough even for a dog
not knowing that his dogs disliked the fresh fertilizer.
7 “They just walked up to the door seeing it was occupied”
he just knocked on the door and asked if it’s ok to check the AC
8 “They were very rude and abusive”
the opposite is the truth, we went out of our way to please them
9 “They WERE defensive and did not offer to solve the situation”
the fact is, we went step by step down his long list of unreasonable complaints and offered a solution for every single one of them.
10 “They did hose down one mound of dog poop”
makes it sound like there was more then one, which may have been
there from their own dog
11 “Why would we want to use their private pool?”
We never advertised a public pool, but offered them to use our pool just to make them happy, and this is the result!
He kept telling us that he should have stayed at the Hyatt Regency
in Sarasota beach, which is a completely unrealistic comparison.

The review is unrealistic and totally out of proportion, which is why
we request that it will be removed! Just look at all the other reviews to
get a more realistic picture of our place.

My daughter (a seasoned, 4-continent traveler herself) found this one nestled just outside of Ocala and Crystal River (it's in Inverness). Four adults roadtripped across country on a 27-hour drive but it was worth it. The concierge had been alerted that we would be in a little late and arranged to have the key waiting for us and the cabin (#14) ready. It was tiny but perfect. We had two bedrooms with very comfy beds, all the kitchen amenities you could ask for in a tiny, pine-lined capsule. We then added three boys, ages kindergarten to middle school to the mix (the cabin also has a loft for the oldest kid).

This is the perfect place for retired people who don't jet ski, golf, go parasailing but just want a comfortable and convenient base of operations for jaunts out and about Florida. Centrally located, we had easy access to Cape Canaveral, Disney, Epcot, the Tampa Coast and the Crystal River manatees.

As an "almost" retiree myself I found this place delightful and quiet. Yet we managed to get to all the major tourist trap- er, attractions within fifty miles.

What works: The location, the amenities (including a fake-fireplace space heater for chilly nights, two big tv screens, a full-length enclosed porch off of a deck and access to a grill), the easy access to other local things (air boats, big box stores, fast food and good food restaurants). The price was pretty reasonable too.

What doesn't: The Florida turnpike - about $1 to $2 every five miles, it seemed. Also the way they handle stalled cars on the interstates: Don't push it off to the shoulder; park it diagonally across two lanes of interstate, have your buddy give you the jump and block two more lanes. Then watch the gawkers back up traffic on both sides of the road for five hours (this actually happened between Atlanta and Macon on our way down).

Special treats: O'Toole's Irish Pub in Tavares, the whole town of Mount Dora.

Riverside is great for cabin rentals, RV's and I think I even saw a tent or two.
This would be incredible for a low-cost honeymoon.

Room Tip: I saw two rows of cabins. The front row faces the highway and may be for longer term stays. The ones...

We rented cabin #42 and it was everything we were looking for. When we arrived, there were no problems with check in, the cabin was cleaned and ready for us. The area is very peaceful and there is NOTHING around it. The park is right on the lake and we were able to take a boat out and just enjoy it. A few things of note: the beds were very hard. Being used to a soft bed it took a while to become comfortble sleeping. The "discovery island" really had nothing on it, but every morning we walked the park loop and ended on the island. Lots of birds on the lake made it relaxing. The firepit was nicely positioned near the lake for quiet evenings. The RV section was small and that's the part thats right against the water. There weren't very many people there the week we booked so it was nice and quiet. We are looking to move there and this was a nice introduction to the area.
Would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: I would really recommend one of the new cabins to stay in. The cinderblock older buildings looked ru...

We stayed there for 5 days in February. The cabin was very cozy, everything we needed was at hand. The boats and canoes available to use on the river was the top, but it is also close to many attractions such as Homosassa wildlife refuge and Crystal river. The hosts were helpful and the people staying there were friendly. Only downside is the traffic noise from the highway early in the morning. Maybe I should have closed the window.

Room Tip: The cabins close to the water may be more quiet.
