Staying at Pine Lodge combines two usually mutually exclusive experiences: being close to great nature and coming home to be pampered by your hosts. The rooms are cozy and clean. The service is superb with a touch of Brazilian hospitability. The breakfast is delicious. Great natural springs are only 15-20 minutes away. The mornings are quiet and peaceful. You can sleep in, then jump in the pool, then ride a bike, or simply sip your coffee and enjoy the morning birds.

Do you want a feel of 'Old Florida" yet have good access to the local attractions? Pine Lodge fits the bill. Just a few minutes west of busy Hwy 19, Josie & Sergio await your arrival at their updated 50s style lodge. Josie and daughter, Kathleen met us on the front porch, just like family. Our one bedroom cabin was ready, but first Josie gave us a mini tour of the grounds: a lodge building where we were served breakfast with lodge rooms upstairs, several cabins of different sizes, a small screened-in heated pool, pretty little BBQ area with gazebo. There was a screened porch area for all guests to use, with a tv, hammock, games and books, and a rack full of loaner bikes. Our cabin was roomy, with a large bedroom with mini kitchen area (frig., micro, sink, toaster, coffee pot & hot plate) and a smaller front sitting room with good reading lights. The reading area in the sitting room was a big plus for us. Breakfasts were served in the main lodge. My husband has food allergies which were cheerfully accommodated. We borrowed bikes and rode down to Yankeetown (where Elvis Presley movie, "Follow That Dream", was made). Josie & Sergio mentioned that all of the movie crew (except Elvis) stayed at the Pine Lodge while it was being filmed. We stayed 2 nights, but could easily have stayed longer to spend more time kayaking or canoeing on the local rivers if the weather was warmer.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Pine Lodge over the New Year's holiday. The location was convenient to manatee viewing at Homosassa Springs State Park, biking on the Withlacoochie State Trail, and swimming/light hiking/kayaking around Rainbow Springs State Park.

My husband doesn't always like B&B's because of the proximity to other guests, so we chose to stay in one of the cottages. It was the prefect size for us, with a queen bed, sitting area, gas fireplace, bathroom, and kitchenette.

The hosts were AWESOME. They did their best to make us feel welcome and at home. Josi and Sergio even put an electric kettle and extra tea in our cottage once they found out I am allergic to coffee, and I really appreciated it.

We will definitely stay here again if we return to the area (which we hope to do in March!).

We found this place on line and didn't know what to expect - boy were we pleasantly surprised! The room was great, the breakfast meals were outstanding. The only downside is the quality of restaurants nearby. But hey, Crystal River is just a few miles south and there are plenty of places to eat.

We received a call on Sept 26th that my father-in-law (in FL) was seriously ill . The place we had originally planned to stay at in Crystal River (beautiful online), was horrible. We turned around and went to the Pine Lodge. Even though we didn't have reservations and didn't know how long we would need to stay, Josie took us in. She found a room in the main house for us until one of the cottages opened up. She even made special arrangements so we would be able to stay in the cottage without having to move again.

Everything about the Pine Lodge was exceptional - the interior decorations of the main house and the cottages, how clean everything is, the fine dining presentation and taste of the meals, and most especially the hospitality of Josie and Sergio. Josie and Sergio even invited us to attend church with them, which was a very uplifting experience.

The Pine Lodge is located in a convenient location. There are many things to do or see - walk or kayak in the many parks, swim with the manatees, visit the Homosasa Butterfly attraction, or even drive over to Disney. The park like setting of the Pine Lodge is delightful. There is a special screened in game room, a laundry area, salt water pool, and a gas grill.

Even though we were at the Pine Lodge for a very unfortunate reason, we are blessed that we stayed there and have gained some new friends.
