We stayed at Sand Glo several years ago and had a nice trouble-free stay. This year (2013) we tried valiantly to secure reservations over the Christmas season. The posted booking chart indicated accommodation was available but repeated attempts (5) over a week or more via telephone and e-mail to confirm AND book went unanswered other than an "I will check and get back to you" e-mail from the Owner / manager's cell phone. The only other response that I got when I finally got someone on the phone was from an associate that indicated "they would be in touch before 3PM that day" - no response at all ... ever. The web-posted toll free number goes to a wrong number.
It made us feel, of course, that if this was the level of service offered before we actually stayed there again, it would only get much worse. The fact that there are so many glowing reviews for Sand Glo certainly puzzles me. I can't be the only one to experience this terrible lack of service and basic courtesy.
In any case, we finally found a very nice spot right on the beach (for less money) with a manager who was lightning-fast responsive, courteous, knowledgeable and thorough.More
