Description: This beach landmark is legendary, and it’s still on fire with a burning passion for delectable food, enticing drink and pleasurable surroundings. For an evening of fine dining, elegant atmosphere, superior service and genuine hospitality, Salt Rock Grill is your destination.Come by land or sea and enjoy the finest dining location in Tampa Bay.St. Petersburg Times–"The first modern surf and turf joint on the beaches still packs them in with red-hot, straight-ahead cooking. Steaks are first-rate, lobsters monstrous, wine cellar deep, seafood and fish souped up in spicy broth. The unexpected treats are root vegetables, lentils and smart spicing"

Always a great steak, great grilled fish if this is your thing. Also have experienced their early bird special menu - smaller portions of limited selections from menu... both dinner sizes were good. If you go, expect loud bar scene and vibrant (noise) dining room, a couple of times had to wait for our reserved table to become available.

Salt Rock Grill is a favorite of our family- we come every year during our trip to FL! Pricey, but food is worth it. Love Raychel as our server- had her 2 years in a row. We prefer to sit outside on the deck and enjoy the warm weather, less noisy and of course awesome views of the water. Get a table by the rail and watch the pelicans while enjoying a bev and an appetizer (lime oysters and capresi are two we like to share). My fave dinner is on the daily specials menu- Thai whole snapper- tastes delish!! whole fish might be intimidating to some, but meat easily picks off and mingles with the rice, veggies and the thai curry sauce. Our kids are 14 and 16yrs and we have been coming here for about 5 yrs. Our kids are very used to eating in restaurants. I give it a 3 stars to families with young children, only bc it is pricey.

Great menu. Cooking on open wood grill. Good drinks and service. Go there for special occasions. Usually took all our staff there for Christmas dinner.

Our birthday-celebrating group of 12 food-loving adults were not happy with the speed of service last Saturday night, but the quality of the food at this lively waterfront grill kept our complaints to a minimum. Although touted for its fresh seafood, several of our party had beef or seafood and beef combinations, and were more than simply satisfied. We started with an assortment of appetizers; the Kingston Trio of chicken, beef, and pork were all perfectly cooked. We always use fried calamari as a measure of quality, and they were just as we'd hoped. All that remained of the bowls of mussels were the shells, but my personal favorite was the medibbean shrimp. I'd have happily made that a main course. Most of us had salads; the house salad was a fresh mix that included several delicious pieces of jicama. My plain grilled red snapper was just that, served with a perfect baked potato. For dessert, I shared an out-of-the-ordinary creme brulee which was truly extraordinarily delicious. Our feeling was that the kitchen, and not the server, was to blame for the fact that we were there for 3 hours, and I would certainly give it another chance.
