The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary's primary role is to rehabilite Florida birds that have been injured and then to return them to the wild. The attractiion is free (donation's gladly accepted) and is a wonderful place to see some of Florida's beautiful birds up close. It is also possible to arrange for a guide to show a group around the Sanctuary. My car club took 40 people there for a tour last year. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Not sure what the mission of the sanctuary is, but the physical reality is that there are birds in cages (some bigger than others) that don't seem to have room to engage in their natural behaviors; also, that many confined birds tend to smell up the area.

This is a not for profit sanctuary that provides care for all types of seabirds, especially pelicans. It's a great place to visit. It's small you can see all the birds in 15 minutes or so. It's right on the beach so you can also take a stroll down the beach. Word of warning, it can be a little stinky, but hey we are all stinky every now and then, right?

Awsome, to see all of Floridas different tropical birds. This is a free excursion. It can be a quick trip or you can take the guided tour for a little longer. We reccomend if you enter the sanctuary off of the beach you bring and wear your shoes.
