We were pleasantly surprised to discover that this unassuming small building is packed with charm, flavor and atmosphere. We checked the menu outside and decided to eat inside, even though there was plenty of seating outside. I ordered Tuna Avocado: two large scoops of tasty tuna salad nestled in a skinned avocado half on a bed of crisp lettuce and sliced tomatoes. The strawberry smoothie was refreshing and not too sweet. My husband ordered a Chicken Pesto Cuban sandwich: chicken breast with plenty of cheese, pesto and tomato served hot, with a side of half a skinned avocado and sweet tea. It's nice to see an alternative to the usual beach-meal sides of fries, cole slaw, and hush puppies. The total price for our two meals was under $24 (not counting the tip which we left in the jar on the counter). While we were eating, several families came in from the beach for ice cream.

Creative and delicious flavors of ice cream near the beach! Had the Captain Butterscotch with Heath bar bits and chocolate!

Totally love this place. The Ice Cream is awesome. When you are there you have got to try "Smurf" it is of course Blue and has little white marshmellows all in it. Totally rocks, no pun intended!!
The gal that owns it just picked up and moved down from Chicago a while back and she is a delight. Her daughter works there as well while she is completing Law School. Great little place and a MUST if you are anywhere in the area. Nice little seating area outside and a few seats inside but even if you have to eat standing up that Ice Cream is well worth it. I went in thinking it would be "one and done" but ended up going back 3 times it was so great!

While the exterior and interior are less than glamorous, the food is fantastic ! Really enjoyed our taco lunches and night time visits for ice cream cones.

We stop at the Kooky coconut every time we are in the area---great ice cream selections---and a nice laid back location close to the beach.
They make great sandwiches!
