The annual Christmas Lights in the park. Nice, festive. I enjoy it every year and plan to keep on coming back.

“Manatees”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

This is a great park. Starts with a boat ride and then a short walk to see the manatees, an incredible animal. It takes several hours to visit everything, but well worth the walk. Great zoo including gators and a very large hipo

“Manatees Close-up”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

Absolutely superb place to view manatees close up. I enjoyed seeing these large but gentle creatures grazing and swimming around.

The park is really nice and seem to making a number of alterations to improve services and visitor comfort.

The staff where really helpful, so thanks for a great day.

Lu the hippo is good, mind out when she needs the toilet as it goes everywhere.

Would love to return here in the future at some point.

“Back after five years away ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

We couldn't return to this area without a trip to this wildlife park as it was our encounter with manatees here five years ago that made us fall for them in such a big way and lead us to return for a snorkelling trip this visit (want to come back in Jan/Feb one day when they're a bit earlier to spot).
This time we were lucky and there was no thunder or lightening (when we arrived!) which meant that the boat trip was running. Really enjoyed the amble through the backwaters and the informative guide pointing out the wildlife - also a lot more fun than driving in. Got to have a good look at Lou the hippo and see first hand why there were "splatter zone" warnings - very impressive!!! Also managed to see the gators ... before the heavens opened ... and that was it for the whole afternoon. Boohoo. BUT lucky for us we bolted for the manatee viewing area for cover and were there so long that eventually along came the manatees who really seemed to delight in looking at us as much as we did them, rolling on their backs, in twos then three. It was a real joy despite the fact that we didn't see anything else. Ended up almost wading out and the bus ride out through the flooded park was great. We were the only ones left in there and they shut behind us.
Shame the two-headed turtle has died since our last visit. Lovely friendly staff throughout besides the lady taking the money - perhaps she was just having a bad day?
