This park is amazing. Any visitor to Florida should see at least one of the springs. Kids will love the animals; a whole range of Florida native species (gators, birds, etc.) and a hippo!?! The sunken glass-bottom boat exhibit is a truly amazing and unique way to experience Florida's freshwater springs up close and personal without swimming in cold water or paddling a kayak. This is a true taste of Florida as it should be.

We went with our daughter, her husband and the two grandchildren. We all enjoyed walking around the park, which is small enough so the children didn't get tired but long enough to make a nice day. The animals and their areas are well kept and clean and there are plenty of volunteers to ensure an enjoyable trip that is safe and informative.

My husband an I also go along to just walk around the park and enjoy its beauty! It has lovely plants and great water views.

What a delightful surprise this visit was! I never expected to find so much entertainment and education in a State Park. For a very affordable entrance fee, you have the pleasure of wandering through a lush landscape replete with lazy alligators, beautiful pink flamingos, bald eagles, owls, myriad other native birds, reptiles, and fish. There's even a resident former movie-star hippo. (Ask a ranger for the story about why and how he's there.) Of particular interest are the manatees who swim up into the warm waters of the inlet. Along with a lovely walk through the garden-like park, you can enjoy an up close and personal look at the abundant fish in the observation bowl -- a glassed-in room below the surface of the crystal clear water. Lots of shade, lots to see wherever you look, easy paths to stroll, easy to find.

We took the inlaws to Homosassa springs when they came down to visit. We were very impressed by this park. The animal exhibits are very tasteful, and the park is very clean. The employees are all very friendly.
