“Only place recommended in Homosassa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

We were in Homosassa for the weekend and looked over the restaurant reviews on Tripadvisor. We all decided on Cedar Key Fish and Oyster Company ( The Freezer) for Friday night. We ordered the shrimp and snow crab. All our meals were very tasty! The seasoning on the shrimp was perfect and they were good size and very fresh! Very busy on Friday nights so we sat at the bar. Our bartender Tim or Jim (hard to hear) was wonderful! He told us that he fries wings Sunday but to get ther early around 4 because they go so fast! Sitting next to us was a local gentleman and I ask him for a reccomendation for somewhere to eat Saturady night and he said "here"! We did try another restaurant on Saturday but found it not near as good. He was right!

“Hey Folks - this is The Freezer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2012

See review on The Freezer. This is the "official name", but it is known as The Freezer because the restaurant is in one of the old freezers. This is still a retail fish store.

“WOW!!!!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2012

Sis and I went just checking the srimp palooza festival a couple of weeks before, we drove around just checking the site and saw this place, we thought it was a fish market only , we took a look around and saw so many people eating. we decided to come back and try the food and to our surprise for 2 people we had shrimp , crab legs & blue crabs and the price was just right and it was well worth it. lots of food and really good!! planning to go again this week!! . only problem people should have respect for the non smokers eating inside and if they smoke they should go to the veranda or outside to do so!!

“steamed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

we can thank BP for this place so the story goes. Seems the oil spill caused the owners to add this venture to their operation as fishing (temporarily) diminished. The Freezer (old large walk-in storage) is now a restaurant with one side removed to allow overlooking the harbour. Rough and ready - the plastic strips are the doors (used previously to keep the cold air in). Limited menu written on small boards. Different varieties of Crabs, shrimp and fish. From what I could gather everything was steamed. For the most part you got the fish and nothing else. Alcohol/beer available. You place your order at the bar and it is brought to you. The resident cat, licking its lips, insisted on sitting on a chair near my wife's tilapa supper... Place is a little hard to find; not in my NAVSAT..
