“Beautiful paddle”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We enjoyed paddling from MacRae's up to the back side of Homosassa wildlife preserve. There was a smaller spring area under the bridge that I never knew existed. Going up in that spring was quiet and out of the wind. We learned that after Nov 15 there is a bouy line that cannot be crossed due to manatee traffic.
Enjoy watching the birds, fishing, and looking for manatees here.

“Great boating and recreation area”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

This is a wide river that flows from downtown Homosassa toward the Gulf. Great for all kinds of water recreation.

“Great place for family groups or couples!”
Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Bring a boat, rent a boat, go on a boat tour! Your visit is not complete without a swim near the springs! The actual spring is a part of the State park, however pristine waters for a refreshing swim are nearby the very popular and relaxing "Swiming Hole" portion of the River. Pack a lunch and refreshments of your choosing, and laze away the day with your favorite music, and flotation device.Forgot your lunch ? No problem, many waterfront restaurants, pubs, marina's are a short boat trip. Just perfectly simple pleasures are all around.

“Relaxing”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Great fishing, good swimming and relaxing! This river used to have some great restaurants but now they are all mediocre. I can't remember but I think there are Manatees in this river also? Some secluded areas are home to alligators , so be careful!
