Description: Restaurant/Bar in an old seafood freezer on the water where boats bring in their fresh catch. Amazing shrimp, fish dip and stone crabs. A lot of local controversy around restaraunt so it is becoming very popular.

What a great find - like a little secret directly on the water in what appears to be a walk in freezer at a bait house/warehouse. Not clearly marked with signage outside - but if you are using GPS- just look on your right towards the end of the street. You'll find it when you see the full parking lot and people walking in & out. Cash only - low prices and great food. The peel n eat shrimp was the best. Really enjoyed coming here and we plan to go back!

All ye pretentious sweater-n-plaid types probably ought to steer clear. it's a dockside styrofoam picnic, the likes of which disappeared sometime in 1982. Everything easily priced 50% off what you'd pay anywhere else for the same. $2 premium draft, awesome food --- simple menu and fantastic HUMAN service. Great place to simply go relax, stuff your gourd, and be amongst friends. Why not 5-points? Restroom was clean but out of soap, and the no-seeums ate free of charge. Certainly, those issues didn't detract from the overall experience. We WILL be back, and often!

It is very difficult to rate this "restaurant" - if you want great seafood (particularly shrimp or crab) - this is the place. If you want service, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, wine served in a wine glass, pay by credit card etc..this is not the place. We are staying for two months in this area and we had a couple visiting us on their way down to Naples, so I suggested to them "Let's try the Freezer - everybody talks about it". We knew it was difficult to find, but my GPS got us there. We arrived at peak time about 7 pm, which was a mistake - it was chaotic with a long line to order at the bar. We placed our order for food and drink - you leave your name and location (we had managed to get a picnic bench outside on the dock) and they will find you somehow. Anyway, this surly guy comes out with our order and asks for the "ticket" for the food. We say "What ticket" - we said that we already paid and the person collecting did not mention holding on to any receipt. The unpleasant guy says "No ticket - no food". We said "You called out the name - Cal - how many others answered to that name". he said "Nobody else did, but it does not matter - no ticket - no food". Then we said - "we can describe everything that you have brought to the table" - so he finally got the point and gave us our food which was getting colder by the minute. I must say though that the shrimp, blue crab (they were out of stone crab) and clam chowder were excellent - that is why I give it 4 rating. I'll chalk this up to a unique experience - I definitely will not come back at a busy time.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon on the chance they might be open. Lucky for me they were!! Had the 1/2 order of steamed shrimp and the clam chowder. Both were incredible! The shrimp came with 2 dipping sauces: garlic butter (excellent) and traditional cocktail sauce. The clam chowder was to die for! Best I've had. Tried some clam chowder at a small restaurant in Cocoa Beach who claimed to have the best chowder. Not even close to the Freezer's. Place was packed with limited seating but well worth the wait. Oh yeah, and the beer? $1.25 draws, $2 bottles of domestic and $5 pitchers!!
