We stopped off at Emily's after our trip to snorkel with manatees at Homosassa Springs. Following the swim we were very cold as it had been an early start (5.30am) and it was a dull cool morning, so the great food and hot coffee was just what we needed.

This is a great local restaurant and a nice change from the chain restaurants you tend to find in the more touristy areas of Florida.

The food was well cooked, tasty and the portions large and the price very reasonable. All day breakfasts, burgers and home style cooking is the order of the day and everything that came out of the kitchen looked good.

It was recommended to us by a local and we weren't disappointed.

We visited the diner for the first time under the advise of a couple locals. We appreciated the welcome we received as we arrived. The staff was attentive and prompt and the wait for our food after ordering was short. We had a party of six and all ordered something different. The Philly Cheesesteak & Fries were really tasty - lots of good meat. The hamburger was classic and the grilled cheese was done just right. The 50s motif was cool, the items displayed were enjoyable to see and brought about great memories and lunch conversation. After all, as a babyboomer, I was taught that a "sit-down" meal was not just about the food but the fellowship. We all enjoyed our food, our time together, and the pleasant atmosphere.

The best food on the menu by far is the breakfast and their Greek Salad. We have been in here many times for breakfast and the salad. Service could be better and the lunch menu/dinner could be better --especially since the owner's son went to a chef's school. It is a senior hangout and they LOVE the food. The reason for that is that is who they cater most to with bland meat and potatoes type food. It is a nice atmosphere- 50's decorated-very cute and can get crowded at times and loud. It appears to be very popular to the locals and visitors-so they must be doing something right.
