I arranged a short vacation for my family on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Not familiar with any lodgings available, I found Cedar Cove on the internet. The owners are absolutely terrific, the location absolutely ideal. The rooms and cabins are older, but that is what gives this little resort its charm. We stayed in the Palm "penthouse" and enjoyed our time there. Be aware that although you technically can sleep 4 there, the pull out couch was very, very uncomfortable and virtually unuseable. To the owners credit, they immediately went out and purchased padding, etc. which made it better. But, if renting the Palm penthouse, plan on sleeping in the one king sized bed which was very comfortable. I would recommend this resort to anyone seeking a peaceful vacation in Florida in an out-of-the-craziness peace of Anna Maria Island.

Room Tip: The Palm Penthouse has an exquisite view.

It doesn't look like much from the road, but you will be pleasantly surprised! Great rooms, AMAZING Beach, fair priced and nice people! You won't go wrong if you spend some time here. You can even fish right off the beach!

Arrive early. Dont't be in a rush to get in your cottage. Take your cooler and CD-MP3 player to the tiki hut. Hit play. Mix a cocktail. Kick back. Chill. Repeat until mellow. In a few hours you'll see a gorgeous sunset. Mix another frosty beverage, grill the lobsters & veggies, open the wine and enjoy a candlelight dinner under the stars. In the morning when you awake, walk the shoreline to the end of the island. Return to the tiki hut for mimosas, melon, and muffins. If you want a more hearty breakfast you can cook sausage, eggs, and potatoes on the grill. Admire the shells you collected on your walk. Toss them back in the Gulf for good luck. There will be more when you return. And you will return. One visit to Cedar Cove and you'll be hooked.

What a neat place, very very clean, we had a one bedroom efficency so we were able to cook breakfast and lunch. A nice outdoor covered patio, we were right on the beach. They provided beach towels, beach loungers we were about 20 steps to the gulf, and offer a guest laundry. The water was nice and clear, Jeff the manager was so nice had great ideas on where to eat and was so helpful. It is on Anna Marie Island which offers a free trolley to go all over the Island. The Island had all kinds of shopping from quaint little gift shops and Publix was right down the street. We will definity go back for a longer stay.

Room Tip: They have nice penthouse which gave you a nice gulf view.

My wife and I stayed there with our kids 10 years ago when they were 10 and 6, and we all took a trip down memory lane by returning there this summer. It's a small place with lots of charm - and convenience. A small kitchen helped with meals and beverages. The location couldn't be better. Just steps from the beach, with the coolest tiki hut for lounging and games. Amazing landscaping too. 10 years later we still love it.

Room Tip: We chose a unit with 3 bedrooms - good move.
