First time at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood Beach - Thumbs Up all the way.
Family members were staying there and we were invited to spend the day with them. I can summarize the experience as "a cruise on land".
A cruise has plenty to do while on board and then you visit different ports and get to enjoy some other different activities as well.
This resort has many amenities - check their website - but suffice to say that it is beachfront as well as boardwalk front!!!!!!!
The Hollywood Boardwalk is a destination on its own - look it up too - eateries, bars, shops, fun activities - and all with the ocean as its backdrop.
Should you want to leave the resort - cross the street and you will find yourself at an alfresco eatery/bar with live music and water taxi service available if you like to enjoy a water scenery tour of the area.
There are other nice places to eat and drink walk-distance from the hotel as well.
Also keep in mind that Miami Beach/South Beach is just a few miles away to the south.
I personally prefer resorts like this that provide the possibility of having fun on premises as well as off premises - only a few steps away.

My wife and I chose to stay at Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida because we wanted to be in South Florida, on the ocean but did not want to pay Miami ocean front prices. We also took into consideration how new the resort is. Still only around 6 months old, give or take. Taking that into consideration, we figured there were still some bugs to be worked out.

First night there was great. Check-in went smooth. The lobby and common areas are amazing and decorated incredibly well and very welcoming.

Our first room was room 1234. It was ocean view but was on the level above the rooftop pool and we had a palm tree taking up about half the view from our balcony. We were not happy with this ocean view room. Granted, we did not pay Miami Beach prices but still paid $350ish per night for an ocean view. We wanted an ocean view!!

The morning of day two we went and talk to them about moving us to a room with a better room. They had one available and had the bellhop bring us up to show us. It was a fine view but not worth the trouble moving for. The woman at the front desk told us shed talk the the room manager and call us to discuss more options. She never did. Later on in the day we went back to talk to the front desk and see what was going on. We talked to a different woman who was absolutely amazing!! Her name is Jodi!! Jodi felt awful and slightly embarrassed that they had told us we'd be contacted and then basically blew us off. Jodi hooked us up with a room that wouldn't be ready until the next day, which we were fine with. Honestly, at this point, we figured we were wasting our time.

Day 3 was a rainy gloomy day so we rented a car to check out the area and do some shopping. Right before we left we were called to let us know our new room would be available soon. We were getting ready to leave. The front desk requested us to pack up and they would move our luggage to the new room. Upon returning from shopping we stopped by the front desk and picked up our keys for room 1754. Much higher and much better view.

Thank you Jodi for helping us out!!!

We stayed a total of 5 nights, 6 days.

Here are some other things that we noticed.

The sheets on the beds are horrible!! Especially coming from the northeast, being sunburned and trying to sleep on them. Very rough!

They closed the pools in the morning to clean them!! I'm sure there's a reason they can't but clean them at night!!! People pay good money to lay by a pool they can go in whenever they want to. Pools closed at dusk.

The drink and food service was horrible at the south pool. I believe his name was Diego. We order drinks and food around 2 or 3 one day. The couple next to us order drinks and the same food items. About 20-25 minutes after theirs were brought, we canceled ours, paid and left.

The adults only pool on the 11th floor was fun. But again, in our opinion, could have been better. The Chill Bar doesn't open until weekends, no music and the cushions for the furniture were not always available.

There were a few other things that rubbed us the wrong way. I think this resort has amazing potential and I hope they're still working out some bugs.

It is a good place to stay for a couple night getaway but I don't think j would recommend it for an extended stay.

The food and drinks at the various hotel restaurants and bars were good and very reasonably priced.

If you do choose to stay at Margaritaville Beach Resort you are not making a bad choice. We did enjoy our stay but think it could be a lot better and a lot more enjoyable.

Stayed 6 nights for a family spring break trip. Kids ages 9 & 12 loved it. Great pools and fantastic beach access. Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is very nice. The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. JWB was a great place for a family dinner. Close to all the action and walking distance to many good restaurants. For sure a place to visit again.

Room Tip: Ocean views are fantastic

The resort is in a great location and room had s great view but I won't be back for several reasons. When we arrived, valet and check-in were very slow. Only two people working at check-in. The one jacuzzi in the hotel did not work until the end of our three-day stay. The ceiling fan in our room had a noisy clanking sound and there was miscommunication about fixing it. Although an engineer finally came, it could not be fixed. The room had only three drawers. Not enough drawer space for two people. The room did not have a bathtub. I requested that the dirty balcony floor be cleaned but it was never cleaned.

Ocean view room on the 18th floor was awesome, balcony coffee in morning and wine at night made each day. Food on site was spectacular. Loved our server Javier at breakfasts and our our bartender Mike Hart way too often durning the day (grin). Beach was well groomed and rum runners made the sun baking doable!

Room Tip: High, ocean view!
