Steak was luke warm and completely dry. I don't know what caused this whether the waiter left it under a heat lamp or what. It was a terrible experience and a waste of a meal. I have eaten here before and the steaks were good. Well they proved for sure this is not a consistand experience like the plam or ruths chris or a dozen other good steak places. The italian restaurant at hard rock stinks so I will give this place one more try before i x it off my lise

Yum...Lobster Bisque is a great starter and the steaks are the best. Try a side order of Lobster Mac and Cheese. JK, Manager and the rest of his staff are professional, courteous, and do a wonderful job. Wonderful upscale restaurant.

French onion soup delicious, diver scallops at $19 had two small scallops, 3 tablespoons mashed cauliflower, two tiny cubes of lobster and maybe 1/2 small mushroom chopped. Total rip off. Oysters rockefeller were covered with a huge amount of cheese, not the traditional rockefeller for sure.. We ordered steak costing $40, $59 and $69. They were all ordered cooked medium. The cowboy steak at $59 was good. The $40 filet was cooked well done and dry, SENT BACK and replaced with one properly cooked. The $69 porterhouse steak was SENT BACK well done and replaced with another porterhouse that arrived charred but almost raw inside, SENT BACK AGAIN. It was further cooked but was very tough. BILL $300 INEXCUSABLE FOR A STEAKHOUSE ESPECIALLY AT THESE PRICES. NOTHING COMPED, not even a coffee or dessert let alone the manager should have comped the porterhouse that was returned twice and on the third try we packed it up for our dog at home. We asked our server if steaks were ever sent back and he replied yes, mainly for overcooked. He seemed to accept the fact that steaks go back regularly to be recooked. Not to knock him he gave us excellent service and apologized profusely. So so disappointed since this was a special occasion. NEVER AGAIN. NEVER. Capital Grill here we come.

Eight of us spent New Years Eve eating here. I have been here numerous times and brought out of town guests to usher in 2013. Our reservation was made a good deal in advance, and we were seated promptly. I would say that the cost of a meal here is more than the average steakhouse - but the surroundings are lovely and it does impress. All of us ordered different entrees and each commented on how good it was - whether it was the lamb chops, the filet, the crab cakes, or the snapper - everything here is ala carte so we ordered 6 sides for the group which included lobster mac and cheese - creamed spinach - onion ring tower - and their corn. We did not order dessert as we were all full - they also have a very upscale sunday brunch which is over the top !!! If you want to impress your guests or loved ones, Council Oak will not disappoint, just be prepared for a large tab - so save it for a very special ocassion.
