Hollywood, Florida, is NOT like Hollywood, CA! It reminded me more of the beaches at Venice, in Los Angeles, but more polished and built up. The Broadwalk aka Boardwalk, it like the one in Venice, paved and goes on from this park southwards to nearly Jefferson St, after that, it is just beach. Whatever you do, park at the North Beach Park ( depending on the day, cost is $1.50 to 2 bucks an hour, or $15 all day. There is no attendant, so take money for the machine. You want to to walk, jog, skate from one end of the walk to the other, it is a very wide boardwalk lined with palms. Stunning. The ocean will be at least 80F. The park is one of the larger public facilities located just after Sherman st going north along the A1A or N. Ocean drive. This is where the trolley ends and then returns to Crowne Plaza near Hallandale Beach Blvd. The park has all the facilities you need to change, restroom, places to eat string the boardwalk. Because the beaches line the shore for many, many miles, this park is not crowded. For public garages, these are located at the Hollywood Beach Marriott between Carolina and Taft st. Not far from the park. There is a garage between Garfield and Connecticut St also, near a much smaller park called Charnow park, Not far and is a good walk is the beautiful Hollywood Marina it begins at Michigan st and ends at Poik st. Hollywood is only 20 miles north of Miami. You can also check out the Anne Kolb nature Center, which is across from the park on Sheridan St. If you go a little more south, there is West Lake Park where you can rent kayaks and canoes and explore the intracoastal waterway. So, this park is a good central location for these other activities. five miles down the road, north, is John Lloyd State Beach park.
