I know the "Title" of this review seems just a little too close to The Wizard of Oz's (Dorothy) "There's No Place Like Home" but it is really true. There's no place like the City of Hollywood and the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. If you haven't been there before or it's been a while, then it's probably past due to be on Hollywood Beach. Not only are there original homes from the 1950's but there's also luxurious hotels. And there's still more to come (i.e. Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville). There are many places to eat, drink and be merry. So check out the live view of Hollywood Beach to see what you're missing. Come on down, we'd love to have you. Hollywood Beach will make sure you enjoy yourself.

It's clean and quite great for a relaxing stroll or a workout. It's one of the most peaceful beaches in south florida.

This is our favorite beach. Come by 9 or 10, and find a lounger, cabana, or chair and plop yourself down. Someone will come by and collect your rental fee Ina minute or two. Good for the whole day. Grab a pizza at any number of shops 50 feet from you, maybe a cold beer too. They have a nice public restroom. Parking is 1.25 per hour, you can pay for up to $15 bucks worth good for the whole day. I think this is where the locals go. Lots of fun, beach volleyball, terrific beach and waves. Be careful of "beach lice" though. Read up on it and be careful. All beaches in Florida have it.

We have family in Miramar, FL, so we always end up spending time at the Boardwalk when visiting them. We went there last November, after the thanksgiving holiday. It was a weekday, so the place wasn't packed, but there was plenty of people enjoying the sun. It was November, but this is South Florida, and it was a nice sunny day. This is not South Beach either, so there isn't any of the craziness. That may be good or bad for you, I guess it depends what you're looking for.
We enjoyed a late lunch overlooking the beach and those passing by.
The kids later got time to enjoy the sand and run around.
The Hollywood Boardwalk always makes for a nice, enjoyable afternoon.

We stayed in fort lauderdale but seem to always navigate to the broadwalk. It was a lot of fun for all the teenage kids that were with me. We rode bikes along the broadwalk all the way through the state park that connects (all beachfront). The kids went parasailing on site as well. Ask the guys for a discount they gave us one both times. The atmosphere is fun and the beach is one of the best. The parking sucks but it is pretty cheap. This place did fantastic on their 4th of july fireworks last year. I would do it again. There arent any decent looking places to stay and that is the only downfall I found. Stay in ft. lauderdale
