“Jabin F. - front desk - was awesome!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2014

We just stayed here over the weekend and purchased our deal on Priceline. The hotel is definitely 4 stars, but the helpful front desk man Jabin F. really went out of his way to make our stay great. We were able to have an awesome room with a great view. The only downside to the room is we were right next to the service elevator, which was loud at times when we were trying to sleep. Aside from that, the hotel was relaxed and easy going. Thanks again Jabin F.! You rock! :)

This was my second stay at Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach. On both occasions, I was attending a conference at the Westin Diplomat up the road. I can't quite figure out why anyone would stay here for any other reason, but it worked for me.

The area is a bit mystifying. It seems to be several miles of nothing but apartment buildings. No shops, no restaurants, just residential buildings. Except for the Westin Diplomat, and then, 1/4 mile south, a little row of shops, a bank, and then the Crowne Plaza, which sits right next to the on-ramp for a highway, on the opposite side of the street from the beach. Next door, there is a gas station with a 7-11, which is helpful, because other than a sketchy little pizza place and the astronomically expensive hotel restaurants, there really isn't anywhere to eat. (Unless you have a car. Which I guess everyone else must.)

I wound up here unexpectedly, after discovering I'd been accidentally booked into the wrong Westin, so I appreciate that the Crowne Plaza took me in at the last minute! The room was beautiful. It is spacious, featuring a king bed, a chaise lounge, a dresser, and a desk, but still leaving a LOT of floor space. There is a kitchen area with counter, sink, cabinet, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. There is a vanity with a sink and lots of counter space and a well-lit mirror. The toilet and shower (a stall shower, but quite large) are in a separate area with a door, but that space is fairly spacious as well--enough to get dried off and dressed, if you're sharing a room (which I wasn't.). It was clean and cool and quiet. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of electrical outlets for charging my devices. The wi-fi was free, and there was a high-speed wired connection at the desk as well. A copy of USA Today was delivered each morning outside the door.

The restaurant has an extensive menu, but it's quite pricey. I could easily have spent over $40 on dinner with tax and tip (and no drinks) for just myself. However, they have a nightly early bird special that is a great deal! Three courses for $15.95.

One minor glitch is that the HD channels on the TV don't actually exist (they're scrambled? or the TV doesn't get HD?) but this is really quite minor.

On the whole, I thought I got a better value for my money than I would have gotten at the Diplomat, where I'd have had to pay for wi-fi, wouldn't have had in-room coffee or a fridge/microwave for the inexpensive items I picked up at the 7-11, and would not have gotten a newspaper. And, honestly, I suspect there were people staying in the Diplomat whose rooms were farther away from the conference center than mine was!

Again, I don't really see anyone staying here for a beach vacation, but if you have business at the Diplomat, give this hotel strong consideration.

The pool was nice, but the facility is dated. Wifi so slow it's not useful. Room clean but in definite need of updating. Beds squishy and springy. Restaurant very pricy. Will not be staying here again unless things are updated. In this day and age functional internet is a must.

Even though I was here for business and I know hotels must be creatively commercial... It's not on the beach. In all fairness the beach was a 3 min walk though don't be fooled. Upon entering the lobby there is a strange feeling in my opinion, doesn't quite feel like a 4* hotel, maybe because it was very hectic and too little checkin staff? Who knows. Anyway, after having this initial bad feeling I was welcomed very nicely and the room with balcony was great, very clean and good in size, great view of the canals. Only issues with the room were the mattresses unbelievably soft and the door insulation, a bit to easy to hear the adjacent rooms opening and closing their doors and their conversations. Bar staff (jack I think :)) was one one of the best bar keeps I've met. Very hospitable and service minded, really seemed like a great team in the food and beverage area... Also, the signage needs to be improved, it says Tiki Bar by the lobby then that takes you straight to the restaurant, where was the tiki bar... Outside by the pool... Good luck... Good stay

Overall a very good stay. The valet was very pushy but overall the staff was helpful and friendly. The location was nice. 17 per night for parking was a bit much but otherwise a good stay. Rooms were large and nice.

Stayed at hotel 2 weeks ago, the concierge was a young kid that just moved to the area and had no idea what was going on, just was pointing in vague directions. But the MAJOR issue was that we called the hotel about 9pm asking for them to call us a cab or direct us to who we can call to get back from the boardwalk, the front desk lady couldnt care less and we walked 4.2 miles back to hotel. We were 2 girls walking all the way back. We called the numbers hotel gave us and there was no answers on both numbers. We called the hotel back several times for help and the 3rd time the lady hung up on me. WILL NEVER BE BACK THERE!

Sure was easy to find...located at major intersection and not far off the interstate. Staff was very helpful from the moment I arrived and the parking valet assisted me to the front desk for a speedy check in with a desk clerk who actually had a sense of humor.
I was impressed with the room, very well organized and spacious and also very clean. Loved the balcony, mine was facing south. Not the hotels issue, but for the next year or so, expect lots of noise facing south as they are just starting to put up a new high rise across the street.
Restaurant has great food, prices are high, but typical for the area. You have to make sure to spend time out at the awesome pool area. Great pool, great landscaping and right on the inter coastal waterway.... A Tiki bar for drinks and you can food brought out, so spend the day relaxing and having fun.... I did.
