“Best beach in the area!”

Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge
Reviewed February 20, 2012

Although it costs $5 to park, this is one of the nicest beaches near Hobe Sound. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy this beautiful stretch of sand.

Love the Refuge! The musuem is so interesting and than you get to go for the hike either into the woods or down to the intercoastal. Great place to bring visitors to see the unspoiled part of Hobe Sound.

This park has two sections, one located between US 1 and the intra-coastal waterway, just south of Hobe Sound in Martin County. Her ther is a small but worthy museum and gift shop, hiking trails, anda cozy small beach and trail system that are dog-friendly.
The other section is a wildlife and georgeous ocean beach area comprising the north end of jupiter island between the ocean and the inter-coastal waterway.Pets are restricted due the wildlife sanctuary and amenities quite limited-no food or water, real rest rooms. But hiking the beach and swimming can be great with a spacious, sandy beach area. however, no lifeguards. It is wise to check the nearby guarded country beach at the head of Bridge road for ocean conditions; also to use restrooms or covered picnic area-or to run your pets.

You can hike a small trail along the Intracoastal Waterway and bring your dogs for a game of fetch along the water. Little wildlife museum is very informative.
