The Hunter's Grill has plenty of potential. To be fair to this place, my wife and I ate there while it was still fairly new...still on its shakedown. We liked it, but, as yet, haven't been back. Why? Well, I guess we just felt like it wasn't quite ready for primetime...not yet. We thought we'd give it a while longer to get its act together. But we could see its potential to be a regular option for our frequent dining out. The night we went the atmosphere seemed flat and the waiter was tentative...even with our encouragement. My wife and I both had light fare...a burger for me and a fish sandwich for her. My burger, "The Hunter Burger", was among the very best I've ever had...correctly cooked, topped with mushrooms, frizzled onions and cheese - wow. But my wife's fish sandwich was so-so. Okay, give them some time and I suspect they'll get both right! The decor is nice but the ambiance is off - while we ate light inexpensive fare the menu is aimed at finer dining options. Accordingly, the place will do best if it adjusts its lighting (way too bright...even for older Floridians) and candlelight would be nice at dinner (they do serve lunch). Prices seemed in line and reservations are accepted (Yea!). The owner reportedly has big plans for this place...and we wish him every success!
