After going out to restaurants that cost about $140 or more for two, with wine lists starting at $30 a bottle, Padrino's was a refreshing respite. The servers were down to Earth with honest advice. The food was very good to excellent and probably as good if not better than the expensive restaurants. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Also it is not all “Cuban”. My wife ordered the fish special which was grilled perfectly and seasoned even better. I had their mango ribs which were very good. One of the best things they offer is a great wine list with the most expensive bottle under $25. The wines were superb value wines selected with obvious care and knowledge. The best part of the meal was the bill. They also don’t add a tacky 18 percent service charge like some of the pricey Miami venues. You won’t be distracted by fancy interiors, smoke and mirrors and you will be able to concentrate on your food and the company you are with.

As a Cuban American their are certain things that you look for in Cuban food. The Yuca, the sweet Plantains, the Pork "Lechon Asado" , Black Beans and Rice and compare it to how your mother made it.

The first time I went to Padrinos was over 20 years ago. Same location but about 6-12 tables only. I was pleasently surprised to see how much they've grown.

The every dish was perfect, except for the black beans. The beans were good but they were not black beans. They were more like brown beans.

Spent a week in Hollywood and we ate at Padrino's twice. Mid priced menu, high class restaurant, excellent service, and the food was excellent. Dinner for two with drinks, appetizer and tip was around $75. I thought I died and went to heaven, the food was so delicious.

Luncheon menu was a steal. Basically, the same meal only cheaper. Without drinks, lunch for two was about $20.
