Clam Bayou Nature Park

Stumbled upon the park while exploring the Gulfport area. Seemed dry and uninteresting from the driveway/parking area but once we began to walk along the trail we were very pleasantly surprised. Many water viewpoints, good birding spots, interesting shells line the path, and it was not crowded. Nice place for a stroll, bring water. Benches along the way. Beautiful views of Boca Ciega Bay and Clam Bayou.

The winding trails, hidden vistas..so much wildlife from a reclaimed area. Small, but sweet.

It is located adjacent to the Gulfport Marina. I bike to it most mornings when I am in florida. There are gravel walking trails that lead to small piers and decks on the water areas. I have not kayaked it yet, however there are kayak tours of the bayou. The city is doing a lot of work to keep chemicals from storm runoff out of the bayou. There are a lot of birds and bird watchers that use clam bayou. also fisherman.

Nice little area, but really not that much to see or do. We walked. We took pictures. We looked at trees and spotted a few birds, but this was a bit disappointing. There is a 5 foot walking trail, but it's not a very long walk. In my opinion, not really worth a special trip, but if you're in the Gulfport area, stop by. I'd much rather go to Ft. DeSoto for a walk.
