I had know idea that this place was going to be almost unfit to stay in. We reserved online as we were traveling & only needed a place to stay over night and Days Inn was a brand name we reconised. Our room had old outdated junk for furniture & this place was filthy! ..from the dark stains on carpet, ripped & stained sitting chairs, to the spider webs in the corner of the room, & a large dead bug next to the fridge. Did I mention the swamp outside that almost resembles a pool?? WTH?? Not sure how this place is still open the the public?? I told my wife to leave her shoes on so her feet wouldn't get dirty & we would shower when we got back home. I actually thought about sleeping out in our van because it was atleast clean. In the morning before we left I went to get a cup of coffee in the lobby, and of course, the coffee pot did not work properly. The front desk lady said she has to stand there & hold the filter compartment on, so it will work period. So I gladly left, without coffee and went on to our destination. Had we not reserved online & were in a such a hurry, we would have gone elsewhere! None of what I tell you is exaggerated, I did take pictures.
I stayed here last October for the Fest, a musical festival in Gainesville. The room was adequate - nothing spectacular, but it was clean and easy to access. The hotel lobby was nice, but again, nothing spectacular. We were never awake early enough for the breakfast, but the leftovers we saw just seemed average. All of the other hotels in the area were sold out, and this was our only option. It was about a ten minute walk from the center of the music festival (University Ave). There is a CVS right around the corner and a Subway across the street. We ordered delivery to our room a few times and it was always very quick.
While the room was nothing but average, the hotel staff was very helpful. Being originally from the NYC area, we were in Gainesville when Hurricane Sandy hit, so our flights were cancelled and we were stranded. We needed to stay a few extra nights at the hotel, courtesy of our travel insurance, and the staff at the Day's Inn was very helpful with this. They always gave directions and recommended places to visit in the area.
The staff was helpful, the room was clean and basic. For location and price, this is a good choice if you are on a budget and not looking for a luxury stay or a ton of amenities.
i have stayed at other days inn before but this one was just horible my daughter was bit by a spider while sleeping on the bed i called to inform the front desk about the incident no one called back i left a message for the supervisor to please return my call till this day nothing! i had to take my daughter to the ER because she started having an allergic reaction
also they took our towels to wash didnt leave clean ones, the comforter my daughter was going to use smelled like urine, the room itself smelled like urine, the a/c was terrible did not cool!! this hotel was just horible, smelly, disgusting,i dont recommend it to no one!
it was just a bad experience i will not be staying at this days inn again nor will i stay at any other days inn due to this experience
