“Very nice!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

We recently dined here during a very busy, college game day weekend. The food and service were both great. We were seated in the back room, which I felt was lacking in ambiance, however, the menu, quality, price and service, more than made up for it.

Our party dined on chicken, veal, mussels, cannelloni and various appetizers and deserts.

The chicken and veal were out of this world!

We finished with the tiramisu. Not to be missed. Truly exceptional!!

Wonderful food & great service. Good location. Quiet, unlike so many of the restaurants in Gainesville.

“Good food !!”

Tortellini Pesto is the ultimate creamy pasta I have had. Nice bread selection as well. The Minestroni soup is very thick and saucy rather than soupy. The service is fast and very friendly. The owner himself plays a saxophone on a birthday celebration.

“A classic Italian restaurant with a big-city atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

You know you are in for a treat when you walk into Amelia's because you notice right away the professionalism of the staff and the style of the surroundings. You'd swear you were in SoHo at your favorite Italian place. The food backs up this impression, too. Great quality and flavor, done with a flare and served in an almost reverential way. Chef Andy nearly always comes out to stroll among the tables and to chat with the diners. The setting is nice and close to all the good outlets in downtown Gainesville. You can dine outside and not be bothered by traffic since it sits in a large pedestrian-only plaza behind the Hippodrome State Theater. It impresses me that this would be a good place to take people for business or professional purposes, as well as a regular night out.
