Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is the football stadium for the Florida Gators and is also known as “The Swamp”. The location of on-campus football games since the 1930’s, the facility has regularly undergone a number of renovations and improvements. With a capacity of over 88,000, it is the largest stadium in Florida.
Obviously, game day visits and other events (like Gator Growl) require tickets. However, the stadium is regularly open for visitors during non-game days. While access to the grass field itself is restricted, the seats and concourse areas are open. Many will run/walk the stairs or just take a look around.
The Heavener Football Complex, which is located at the southwest corner of the stadium, has excellent multi-media displays of various awards (including the national championship trophies). There are also a store at the northeast corner of the stadium selling all things Gator.
