Our family enjoyed going down the winding staircase to the bottom of the park. the lush ferns, mosses and other tropical plants were amazing. Our children really enjoyed the adventure and the visiting center as well which explained more about their adventure

This is a great time of year to visit this site. It is about 1/2 mile walk through the lush vegetation that only grows in this setting. If you are looking for a little exercise and lots of beauty this is the place to visit.

Don't get me wrong. Devil's Millhopper is stunning. It's a great place to get a little bit of exercise in and soak up the beauty of the sink hole but going on the weekend is probably not the best time if you wanted to listen to nature and relax. Lots of families go on the weekend and the stairs get a little crowded. Other than that it is a must-see.

It is quite a few steps to the bottom of this large, open sinkhole, but it's worth the climb. (Don't go in the summer as the mosquitoes are thick!)
