Don't miss this little gem, tucked over by Shands Hospital. The menu is "contemporary Southern" and it is delightful. Everything is delicious, from the pimento grilled cheese to the black-eyed pea Greek salad to the tempeh Sloppy Jo to the magnificent burger. But what you really want: The fried chocolate pie! Service is outstanding, daily specials are creative...it's everything you want in a restaurant!

We were warmly greeted by the bartender and the wait staff and seated at a nice large table. The decor is very "minimalist" but well lighted with a view of the nearby busy street.
The food was great - unique menu with nice pairings of sides with entrees. The flounder was sweet, accompanied by very good pureed parsnips, (don't knock it 'til you've tried it). The pompano was delicious and tender.
Major points off, however, for the wait. There were very few people dining but we waited 40 minutes for our food. The waiter did come by and tell us it would be ready "soon."
Definitely would go back!

Casual Dining at its finest. Have been twice and will go again. . You can tell the chef takes pride in the meals. Seafood selections are outstanding. Along with great soups and salads makes this a must visit for casual dining in Gainesville.

Bert Gill and crew got this Yankee to truly enjoy fried okra (a very light breading and tasty buttermilk sauce), shrimp and grits (large shrimp and delicious cheddar grits) and a delightful pan seared grouper over perfectly cooked risotto with butternut squash purée. Dessert was a light banana bread that had a nice crispy pan sear served with a nice chocolate mousse. A couple glasses of a nice ale rounded out this fantastic meal. Service was attentive but relaxed and the atmosphere was bright, airy, colorful, and comfortable. All in all a great dining experience!

I had lunch at Blue Gill on a rainy day in Gainesville. The decor was bright and the service excellent. The crab sliders included a hint of lemon that teased out the crab taste. I chose the salad to accompany and the champagne vinaigrette complemented the greens and vegetables. One person ordered the lettuce wedge with ahi and was greatly satisfied.
