“Very Good But Not the Greatest”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

My wife had eaten at Flying Biscuit with some co-workers so I decided to give it a try with her. We ate there the day after Christmas and again two weeks later. Both times I had the Meggxican Wrap and both times it was very good. It is a rather unique dish and quite tasty.

The biscuits that are served with the meal are quite unique and wonderful. They seem to be sprinkled with sugar which gives them a great flavor. Topped with butter and their homemade apple butter, these things are great. The other treat that they serve is their "creamy, dreamy grits". Again, very unique and quite tasty even though I am not that big on grits.

Their coffee is very good and they do a good job of keeping your cup full. But they're proud of it - $2.25 a cup.

The day after Christmas, they were very busy and the service was a bit on the slow side. But I do not hold that against them given the crowds. On the next visit, the service was much faster.

It's not cheap - breakfast for two is going to set you back at least $20. But I'd go back.

“Wow!”
Reviewed December 21, 2012 via mobile

The best meal out I have had for a long time. The orange juice was great. The whole wheat toast was covered with a honey on glaze raspberry sauce that was to die for. The sunny side up eggs were just what I asked for. The chicken bacon was excellent. The chicken sausage was the weakest part of the meal, and it was still good. My 15 year old son could not eat two of the whole wheat pancakes, and they were delicious. My wife had a pancake with a peach compote that was as good as the French Toast. My daughter had a "healthy" omelet (no meat) and thought it was excellent. I wish we were staying longer so we could go again.

“Best Breakfast in Gainesville (if you can take the wait)”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Great food with some healthy options. Delicious coffee as well.

The one drawback is on the weekends if you arrive between 930am-noon, you will have to wait. Sometimes for a long time. They do have complimentary coffee and water for you while you wait to soften the blow.

That said, you can call in and save yourself 30-45 minutes in wait so definitely do this if you know you will be there at the peak times.
