The museum is a very worthwhile stop for anyone interested in Florida history. Then there's also the star attraction, the Butterfly Rainforest. The latter is a very well maintained and well populated area where you can walk amongst the butterflies and the extensive vegetation. Upon entry you're told to watch your step because sometimes the butterflies land on the walkways. We did see one perched there. The rest of the museum is divided into specific exhibits: Florida fossils, waterways and wildlife and South Florida People and Environments. One of the changing exhibits while we were there concerned the evolution of dogs from wolves. The entire museum was very clean and staffed by many volunteer docents. We highly recommend this facility.
