We've been once and couldn't take in all of the exhibits. They covered all of Florida history, with genuine Indian artifacts. The fossil exhibits were amazing, and they had plenty of hands on things to do for the kids. It is a must see!! We will be back, we loved it.

“Fun and free!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Other than the new exhibit and the butterfly garden, the whole museum is free! I took the kids I babysat one saturday and kept them entertained the whole time! Warning: The cave is very cool but scares the little ones because it is dark

“Great bargain!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

This museum is a great bargain. It's FREE! (Except for the butterflies and the giant snake). This museum has exceptional quality and is unmatched in the state. We would definitely recommend this museum to anyone visiting Gainesville.

“Good spot for kids”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Great little museum for kids. Lots of stuff for the little ones (and young at heart) to see and do. Large enough to keep them interested for a day, not large enough to overwelm. One of the largest displays of canoes I have ever seen. And if they're not careful, they may learn something. Situated in the complex with the butterfly forest connected and the art museum right beside. Throw everything in and you have a couple of days of entertainment. They also have a theatre adjacent.
