“Amazing stay at Sweetwater Branch Inn”

I got married at Sweetwater two weeks ago, and my entire family stayed in their rooms for the whole weekend. I cannot say enough good things about it. The entire property is beautiful. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. The buildings are charming. The breakfast was delicious. Most importantly, the staff was EXTRA accomodating, from letting us check in early, to answering any questions we might have. The Heirloom Room was the perfect amount of space for 3 girls. My aunt and uncle had Lily's Cottage, and it was a whole house of its own, even with a full kitchen! I want to travel to Gainesville again just to stay at Sweetwater. I definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone looking to get away for the weekend, for a romantic place to stay, even for the whole family, and especially as a place to get married. It was perfect.

Room Tip: The cottages are very large and perfect for a family stay. The Honeymoon Cottage is SO cute and the...

This met our expectations!!! Lots of beautiful natural woodwork, furniture and stained glass throughout the Makenzie House. The staff was friendly and helpful! We LOVED the breakfasts......delicious choices and lots of them. Would highly recommend this to everyone especially if you're looking for a Victorian style atmosphere to stay in. An added bonus for us was purchasing a Groupon to stay here!! An awesome find!

One of the best B&B's I've ever visited....The property is beautiful. It is well maintained and all the rooms are lovely. There are also cottages that have kitchens, more living space and some have jaccuzzis. The breakfasts are buffet style with a wide assortment of choices. Everything is prepared and served right there where you will be eating. All the employees are courteous and anxious to assist the guests in every way. Rachel, who prepares the breakfasts most of the time, makes the extra effort to prepare something additional if you have any dietary restrictions. It's a GREAT place...I wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Gainesville!!!

I got a groupon for valentine's day for my girlfriend and myself. This B&B was fantastic and exceeded all expectations. Between complimentary breakfast (which was DELICIOUS), wine and cheese hour, picnic lunch, and a stroll through the garden, we barely wanted to leave to see the rest of Gainesville. The attention to detail and the staff's extreme compassion and friendliness made the experience one of a kind. I recommend it to everybody!

Room Tip: There are cottages which seemed a little more private, but there are pictures online of every room a...

We are the BritAms, one Brit, one American sharing our humble opinions. This place is as pleasant and quaint as can be. At first you drive through a fairlynnon descript area but once you drive through the front gate, you enter another world, a world full of authentic charm. The staff was so friendly and accomodating especially Rachel (Chef, Server, Front Desk) who walked around with a smile as big as a cheshire cat. Actually, they have a beautiful tabby onsite named Butterscotch who will leave you feeling as if you have been here before and never want to leave. We stayed in one of the cottages (Victoria), charmingly decorated with a hot tub and fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. The peaceful surroundings were accentuated by a Homedics gadget that put us asleep to either the ocean or the falling rain! As you awaken from your deep slumber you realize that you have chosen a bed and breakfast. The beds are soft and soothing, the breakfast is warm and filling...with many organic and fresh items. Fresh fruit, frittata, strata, frsh sqeeze your own oj, pots of tea, organic yogurt, homemade granola, find your own private enclave or dine on the front porch. You will find it difficult to pull away but before you leave drive the streets behind and you will find a sweet assortment of other historic homes serving as bed and breakfast establishments. Also, the Butterfly Rainforest on campus is fantastic as well as watching the Bat Houses at dusk!

Room Tip: Loved the privacy and peace of the cottages. They are perfect for a romantic getaway.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights after seeing their deal on Groupon. The value of the stay with the Groupon was absolutely fantastic (it was cheaper than a lot of the other places we stayed on our roadtrip but on a whole different tier of quality). Even without the Groupon, though, I think the rooms are very reasonable priced.

The stay here is great. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was very spacious (we stayed in Luisa's room). The property hosts two friendly cats that are a pleasure to see lounging about and to interact with. There is a small garden on the property with palms, pretty flowers, and geckos (which we were excited to see). There's also a pond with some small fish in it that entertained us. We spent a couple hours of simply enjoying the outdoor space of the property while we stayed.

The breakfast was delicious, absolutely outstanding. They had vegetable frittata that was light and flavorful, yogurt with homemade granola, sweet breakfast crepes, french toast casserole and more. Also their chefs and the whole staff is friendly and easy to talk with, providing a very pleasant atmosphere.

We would definitely consider staying here again, as it's a really lovely place and the price is not so much higher than many area hotels, despite the fact that the stay is more pleasant than any hotel where I've stayed. This is perhaps more impressive given that my girlfriend and I are in our early twenties, and the extra cost would be hard to part with, but in this case it would really be worth it.

Room Tip: We stayed in Luisa's room, but the others definitely seem comparable. It would come down to pers...

I don't really want to let others know how great this place is because I dont want to be booked out in the future. I have been staying in Gainesville for many years on weekends. I never knew that Sweetwater even existed. My husband and I loved the place. Great location, great service, clean pretty and comfy rooms. Loved our stay and we will be booking again.
