Enroute to south florida, from georgia, I sought out an adventure for my family, and we were pleased with how this stay turned out. This campground and adventure center was clean, well kept and operated by a very nice couple. They have rv and tent sites, as well as rustic cabins. The cabins have 4 walls, 2 beds, a wall outlet, a couple chairs, and a lamp. Thats what cha get. you bring the fun. don't plan on cell service, internet or wifi here. get away from it all for a night or two and enjoy this place. they put us on a local restaurant that was great, and gave us help on our driving tour to south fla as well.

We rented intertubes to float down the river. The river is pretty cold and it was overcast, but they also rent little boats to float in. the people were very nice and friendly, the fellows ties everything to the van for us. Great prices, and great service.

Reasonably priced, simple but clean facility. Family run. Family oriented.
Very convenient to the North entrance to the Ichetucknee State Park. We planned to do the float one time but ended up doing it 3 times over the weekend and swam a couple times in Blue Hole.
It would be great if they would rebuild the swingset for the kids and
my only complaint was the window unit in our cabin was VERY LOUD, (although the others said it was good that it drowned out my snoring, LOL)

Winter is a great time for this trip. Few people on the river. Such a great place, so we went again (this is maybe the 6th time) with five adults and 1 child ( 10yo) Varying skill levels. All in solo kayaks. Everyone did great. Air temperature was cold (40's F), but the river is a constant 72F, so it was as if the boats were heated. The owners' grown children ran the shuttle and they were delightful hard workers. Saw deer, wading birds, vultures, and on other trips have seen turkey, raccoons, otter.

The Ichtucknee River is a beautiful spring-fed small river. Boats can be rented here (either canoes (aluminum Grummans) or kayaks (1 or 2 person Old Town Loons)). The store is just outside the north entrance of the Ichtucknee Springs State Park. The fee is $16 per person (kids are a little cheaper) for the boat and the shuttle to the put-in and pick-up at the take-out, plus $5 for per car for entering the park. A great deal! Like most mom & pop's, the owners have distinct personalities and this is no soul-lessDisney place. There is a mini-mart store for the supplies you forgot (you can take almost nothing with you on the boat trip per the Park rules (really only water)), but the store has suntan lotion, snacks for afterwards, great t-shirts, etc. There is a campground, a decent bathhouse, and small efficiency cabins that are air-conditioned. We never stayed overnight, but have rented boats 5 times there. They also rent tubes for floating the river. Great place to rent boats/tubes.
