I love this place, usually go for lunch, I always take friends to try I out, they love it too...it is delicious comfort type food, but they have salads etc...it's so quaint and relaxing...always very clean and comforting ...service isn't fast food, that's why it's so nice to to when you have a longer lunch....

“Must try for the location alone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Had dinner here our first night in town, loved the old home and it's furnishings. Top marks for just a wonderful place to explore before and after dinner. My wife spent as much time looking at the neat old furnishings as we did eating.

Service was excellent, you are well taken care of when dining here. Staff is knowledgeable about the menu and kitchen does a nice job.

Food was good, had grilled snapper and my wife had shrimp. Salads were tasty and fresh, would definitely come back. Off the beaten path, but worth visiting.

“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2014 via mobile

Had lunch on advice of sister-in-law. It exceeded expectations. Lovely homey environment, friendly good service and good well priced food. Will go back for dinner next time we are in town. Waitress said dinner reservations are advisable. Met the owner in his military memorabilia collection upstairs, what a great guy who knows everyone and everything about the area.

We had a party of 9 that ranged from teens to seniors, and all were delighted. Food was amazing, decor charming, service excellent. You won't be disappointed!

“Atmosphere and service win the day in this old local favorite...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014

The outward charm of this gracious, rambling white frame house set amongst the coastal magnolia and live oak drew us in. There was a bit of a wait behind a large (mostly senior) lunch crowd, happily spent in the main upstairs collection of local military memorabilia. DJ our veteran waitress was an absolute hoot. She did a great job, fueled by whimsy and total honesty. The 4 of us enjoyed great lunches off the ample menu. The prices are clear, in even dollar amounts. They do honor all usual credit cards though I momentarily wondered when I saw an ancient cash register up front... We would go back in a heartbeat, though the history and artifacts that surround one would be most appealing to seniors...
