We discovered this from a local & glad we found it! We make an annual "girls" trip to FWB/Destin every year & will be adding this to our list!! At first we got an older lady, snappy & grouchy with zero personality!! I see from previous reviews, we are not the only ones to have complaints on the service! I spoke with the mgr/owner & she got us a different waitress, GREAT improvement! There were 8 of us & we all ordered something different. The food portions are large & very well done!! Most came with sides of Fettucini Alfredo. We did have choices for substitutes for the sides on our orders. They also had a nice wine list. The atmosphere is very nostalgic & they had music playing randomly from the 30/40's. The house is very pretty & was a Sears & Roebuck house from the 1910's. They had lots of old pictures and tons of memorabilia. Very interesting & quaint! They also had nice and ample outdoor seating! I would highly recommend this place!

I will never miss a chance to go back to this restaurant. The greeter and waitress seemed too happy to share the history of the building which was truly fascinating. The food was fabulous and lots of it. It was off the beaten path but was worth the trip.

We went here with a group of 12 friends who had a coupon for a half-rpiced meal. Restaurant would not honor it saying they changed ownership (we're still skeptical about this) even though the coupon's dates were still good for another 6 months. Very disappointing service and bad word for a large group of people visiting. Food is a little on the pricey side but tasted good - just watch out if you bring a coupon. Atmosphere is nice and laid back.

The Magnolia Grill is located in an old house in downtown Fort Walton Beach. It is upscale compared to the majority of local restaurants. It was our 45th wedding anniversary and we wanted somewhere special to go. We were greeted by the hostess and promptly seated. The service was quick and fast. The waitress was a bit abrupt though her assistant took wonderful care of us. I did have to ask for refills on our water as they didn't come around and offer it. The servings they brought were huge. We both took home doggie bags. My husband had the fish of the day and he said the fish was delicious and the veggies were the best he's ever had in a restaurant. The twice-baked potato was huge and done well. I had the shrimp scampi and pasta. It was very lemony and yet somewhat bland. I had the black bean soup instead of the salad and it was good but also a little bland. It was loaded with beans and meat. The salad had homemade dressing. During the dinner there was entertainment with someone playing dinner music on a keyboard. Reservations aren't required but they are recommended.

A beautiful 100 yr old Antebelllum mansion but with uncomfortable seating. Another restaurant that tries to be everything to everyone. The Menu runs from home cooking, Italian, Seafood, and Steaks without doing justice to any that we tried. Crab cakes were thin and extra crispy and mealy with no evidence of crab meat. If it was there it was ground so fine it was not noticeable. Stuffed flounder was good except for the stuffing which again was very mealy and not a soft consistency associated with seafood stuffing. the quantities were large but again doesn't matter if you can't eat them. We thought the prices were too much for the quality of the food
