It is beautiful with the emerald green water and white sand beaches. We stayed at Hampton Inn which was close to the fishing pier. The pier was $2 to walk on but I enjoyed it so much I came back the next day. There were herons and pelicans hanging out waiting for the fisherman to throw them a catch. The view is great . I also enjoyed watching the surfers .
At end of pier was Anglers , great for cocktails and snack or dining with beachfront seating and picnic tables on pier or beach and playground
Also nearby was the boardwalk with a very nice bathroom , shops and restaurants, it's not really a boardwalk and it's small but a great spot for a break from the sun
Past the pier was the national seashore with the sand dunes and sea oats. It was picture perfect
We were visiting in December so it was very slow and some of the restaurants and stores were closed or had cut back but on plus side you pretty much he'd the beach to yourself
