“A little pricey but the food was good”

Enjoyed the food, the view, the drinks and the ambiance. Won't take the kids under 10 next time but we enjoyed our meal. Convenient location and beach front. Loved it. One of the best options in the area.

“A return visit after tourist season”
Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

Up front, I'll admit to being a local who avoids going to tourist restaurants in season. So, it was a treat to revisit the Black Pearl again in September. Saturday evening, and there was a good crowd in the restaurant. Still great weather so there was a choice of inside and outside tables (all covered, with open sides to the beach, but one area with aircon, and one without.
We were seated quickly and the service was very friendly and professional.
If we had wanted to get in and out fast, they could handle that, but we're also open to us taking our time.
The food was really good, with the bacon wrapped scallops being a big hit.
The view from the restaurant is superb and the excellent sunset added to the experience.

A note to the locals - show your driving license, and they'll give you a local's discount card. Just don't tell everyone!

“Nice venue, good food”
Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the Black Pearl. It appeared all tables had views across the beach, and as we arrived a little before sundown we enjoyed great views of the Gulf. On a busier evening I'm sure there would have been volleyball going on right in front of us. The server was very good, and attentive as we needed. The food service was good too, and very tasty. Our only comment was that it was just a little pricey for where it is. A very relaxed evening in nice surroundings.

“Great dining experience”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Visited Black Pearl during our vacation on Okaloosa Island. What a great choice! We were seated immediately upon arrival around 6:30 or so. Table over-looking the gulf was so relaxing, & the service was very good. My husband & I both enjoyed our meals very much. After a week of sea-food at various island restaurants, my husband was ready for prime rib. He loved it! I had the Miracle Strip Platter which consists of mahi, shrimp, scallops, & crab-cake. Delicious! Don't know why we waited until the end of our first vacation on Okaloosa to try Black Pearl, but we'll definitely be back to both the island & this restaurant.

“Great food, service and view”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

We have been going to Ft Walton for years but never eaten at this restaurant. We had already eaten at all of our favorites and wanted to try something new. The reviews here were mixed but we decided to try it.
We went around 6pm and got seated immediately. Our server was fast but didn't rush us.
We ordered the scallop appetizer which was heavenly. I ordered the crab cakes and my husband ordered whatever the grouper special of the night was. Both were outstanding. I ordered the s'mores bread pudding which may have been the best I have ever had.
We will add it to our list of places to eat when we visit. Very happy and we got free admission to Howl at the Moon which was so much fun. That will be another review!
