We stayed in the Veranda 201 in Feb 2014. The unit it's self is very nice. It has it's own washer/dryer. The bathroom was very clean with a very clean shower. There is a nice pass through door from the bathroom into the bedroom. The bedding was very nice and clean but we could have used another blanket. I'm sure had we called the owners they would have taken care of the blanket issue for us, but we didn't.
The elevator was nice for taking suitcases etc up to our level. It wasn't the cleanest but I wasn't going to sleep in it. The Elevator Service Man was there while we were there. So it does get serviced.
Parking: It SUCKS. Although there is parking under the building it is very narrow and unless you have a roller skate for a car you won't be using it. There are 7 stalls outside for 9 units to use and one of them is handi-cap. So if the building is full as it was when we were there you may not have a usable parking stall when you return from outings. Some of the units have more than one vehicle as was the case with an owners son and girlfriend. The parking lot surface is made from a material that could cause you to turn an ankle if you don't watch were you step.
The beach is very nice and it is very easy to access from the Condo grounds. If you plan on spending time on the beach be prepared to bring your own chairs and equipment. Unlike other Condos we have stayed at on the Island they do not provide anything for you.
The kitchen was fully stocked with any items you will need to make your own meals should you need to.
Another downer is the area. The Veranda is surrounded by blighted empty buildings. This includes a large rundown empty Sandman Motel directly across the street. There are also abandoned condos one one side that are in very bad condition. We were careful about not leaving things in our car. This is the only area like this on the gulf side of the island.
All in all I would say this unit would be perfect if it was on the west end of the island. But it is within walking distance to the Tom Thumb convenience store, Waffle House and Helen Back bar that has great pizza
