This was very interesting for both the adults and children as well. To know of the culture and history of the indians was pretty cool. it also includes the camp school along with interesting facts about how school came to be.

“Something to Fill in the Time for Restless Children”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

We took our 6 and 9 yr olds to visit because of the reviews shared on tripadvisor ($3.50adults/$2child). They had fun with the hands on exhibits throughout the museum. Mostly, the basket weave and the antique manual drills. They also had some stones and artifacts that could be picked up and observed closely. It's very kid friendly. The Temple Mound itself is roped off at the top and you just stand up there and observe for a few mins while your kids complain that there is nothing to do up there. It was still nice to observe and read the information printed on display boards. Next door to the museum is a store that sells indian made items like smoke pipes and drums and spears, etc. It was interesting to look at, though strategically placed next to an indian museum. Seperate from the museum exhibits but part of the fee is an old school house, which allows children to sit in the old desks and draw on the chalk boards placed on the desks. My gilrs LOVED that part. The school house tour guide was very friendly and informative and allowed the girls to touch many displays. He showed them how an old victrola would have been used as part of the schools music lesson. They listened closely. He was a great tour guide. There is also a small post office and civil war building (very small) behind the school house where you can take a peek at times past. Overall, we spent about 2 hours to see everything. If you go, definitely tour the old school house. It's like "Little House on the Prairie". I think I liked it as much as my girls did.

“Thick air there.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

A budget friendly activity for the whole family. It was like you could feel the energy all around you in the air on top of the mound. My husband even liked it and he does not appreciate things like that very often. We will be back there again.

“Indian Museum - interesting”

We planned to visit this museum before we ever got to town. We went on a rainy day. It was inexpensive and was very interesting. The people were very nice.
