We spent two afternoons here sitting at the bar on rainy days mainly because the bartenders were interactive, friendly and attentive. It didn't hurt that this place has the BEST calamari hands down. It is fried to perfection, not chewy like a lot of places. We prefer ours with Ranch and shrimp sauce rather than the marinara it comes with, but we were happily accommodated. If you've never had calamari (or only bad calamari) then try it here! We also tried the shrimp po-boy which was good, not great and the oysters which the bartender cracked himself and were huge...but I think he may have hand-picked them just for us since we'd been sitting there a couple of hours. The bar area has three small flat screens and two big flat screens that are usually on sports and which they will change to whatever you want...even handing you the remote to find what suits you. We'd go back for a few drinks anytime if we lived in the area.

We came late afternoon. Asked for a gulf side view and it was great. The hot crab dip and pita chips were very tasty. My wife had the lunch crab cakes and enjoyed them. I had the crab feast and frankly maybe I should have had our server clarify where the blue crab came from...Maryland or Alaska. Bad assumption on my part as the order also was supposed to have 1/2 lb of snow crab so I figured they came from same place. The blue crab tips were breaded and most were very small however those that were larger had nice meat. All in all, I felt my wife's meal and price were excellent...mine @ 29.99 seemed overpriced for what I received. Service was good.

We visited one of our favorites here in Fort Walton Beach on February 15. We live just down the beach, so our usual routine is just to walk down the beach to the place. This time we brought a couple of relatives to join in the fun. Our waiter was genial and efficient, and the foot was hot and wonderful. Fish tacos, hush puppies, shrimp, crab cakes, cole slaw and the usual trimmings. Another 10/10 experience. Keep up the good work, Crab Trap!

The food was very genetic. Nothing special. The fried oyster po boy had mushy tomatoes and not flavor. The fried fish left us wondering where the fish was...nothing but batter. The calamari was good and well as the lobster dip. Tourist trap. Def not for locals. Way better places around.

The food here was very good. We would go back again, but hope we have a different waiter. The guy we had was very inattentive and disappeared for long periods off time.
