“Great little restaurant”
Reviewed June 19, 2014 via mobile

We have been here before on past trips to Destin. All visits were great, but this one was the best. The place may not look fancy but the food is amazing. I had the 1/2 bbq bird...WOW! It was just perfect. I liked that the sauce was on the side for dipping. My son loved the bbq pork sandwich so much that he ordered another to eat there. One of my daughters ate the chicken fried CHICKEN. It was served in a white milk gravy. The chicken was so light and a beautiful golden brown. Another daughter just wanted desert...she had a large serving of blackberry cobbler with ice cream to go on top. She ended up getting a second order since she would have to wait another year to have it again. The waitress was super nice and kept our tea filled. She was interested in us and that made for a nice visit. The chef came out about half way through our meal to make sure everything was just right and thanked us for choosing them for our dinner. It felt like visiting family. We will go back next year! One more thing everything came out to about $50 and we left FULL!

“Excellent locals diner / restaurant - Very Reasonable”
Reviewed June 7, 2014 via mobile

After eating in many tourist traps in Destin, we finally discovered this friendly locals diner just over the Brooks Bridge coming from Destin. We had lunch with three couples who all ordered different daily specials. Good variety of real, fresh comfort food. I had Chicken and Dumplings with 2 side vegetables which were delicious. The owner, Dennis treats you like family. A very friendly laid back place. Don't miss the fried green tomatoes and onion rings (amazing). Our friends are all talking about checking out the daily specials on Monday. We will definitely be coming back.

“Rolling Rock and Ribs for a dawn breakfast”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

This place used to be open all night. Portions are huge, food is good and the service is awesome. The place is a historic business to my way of thinking. The interior is like an old roadhouse. It's a good getaway.

“Really great food and value”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Don't miss this great little sleepy restaurant at the foot of Brooks bridge, that's the bridge going from FWB to Okaloosa Island Just as you are about to head over the bridge on the right. The just-like-mom made it food is delicious, I had and loved the fried green tomatoes and the spaghetti. Do yourself a favor, take the rest of your dinner home for lunch the next day to make room for dessert. Thanks to DW I managed to try both the peach cobbler and the fudge pecan pie, the pie is especially intoxicating.
