We thought that 90 minutes would be adequate. We were wrong! There is a lot of information packed into this facility. Lots of stories. Very interesting and well worth a visit. Lots of equipment that I had not seen before.

The Navy UDT-Seal Museum is just off A1A in Fort Pierce and worth a visit. It is where the underwater demolition teams (precursor to the Navy Seals) were first trained. Exhibits start with WWII, the beaches of Normandy to Iwo Jima & Okinawa in the Pacific. There are photographs and lots of unique artifacts to illustrate the early beginnings.
Further galleries display firearms, knives, marine equipment & photos of Seals in action. The museum is further enhanced with movies showing past & present Seal activities. It has a special section dedicated to the dogs who assist and vehicles & boats (both inside & outside).
The admission fee is a low $8.00 per person. The space is easy to walk around and the staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. There is a well stocked gift shop at the end of the tour. The only thing missing would be a place to eat though there are several spots close by. Parking is plentiful and there is a park right next door. A great place for young and old alike. Go soon!

This was our second visit to the museum. The exhibits are interesting and do a great job covering the changes in the mission of the SEALS program over the decades and into the present. The memorial wall and fountain were especially touching. There was a scavenger hunt that was a little too old for my son (who is 5 yrs) but would be perfect for older kids.

Navy SEAL and UDT museum was very entertaining and worth the drive from Jupiter where we were staying. Outside the museum is a memorial for SEALs and UDTs fallen in the line of duty. Additionally there are a number of Navy vehicles to explore in the area surrounding the museum. Inside, the museum provides a complete history of the Navy SEAL and UDT programs beginning with WWII. Suddenly it all makes sense how the museum ended up in Fort Pierce, FL. You can spend as little or as much time as you like in the museum reading about the history as well as viewing an extensive collection of knives, guns and diving gear used through the years. Additionally the last room contains a number of interesting vehicles related to the SEALs. Definitely worth the trip!

Anyone who likes military history will love this place, and even if you are not a military history fanatic, it is still very interesting and informative. My husband is a disabled Navy veteran, and he really enjoyed it. It took us about two hours to get through it. Depending on how much you want to read, you may want to spend longer. We have lived on the Treasure Coast for seventeen years, and I am ashamed to say that we just visited for the first time.
