Great bonsai exhibit and many local natives and exotic plants not found in many places. Nice gift shop.

I was very disappointed! Small, not very interesting. Some areas were not kept up or manicured giving the appearance of neglect.

Heathcote truly is a hidden treasure. It has many private and protected areas with benches for contemplation and finding peace. When I go there, I am not looking for a perfectly manicured kandscape. I want a place that is comfortable.
I love the atmosphere and the special role that Heathcote offers. They support a junior master gardener program and the vegetable garden is one of the youth accomplishments.
They have areas for herbs and rainforest plantings; highlighting Florida natives, sun loving and shade flourishing species, bromeliads, orchids butterflies, dooryard citrus, and more.
give it a try! You wont regret it. Be sure to ask about the history of the space and the band of five who made it happen. It is an integral part of the origins of historic Fort Pierce.

As with previous plant sales at Heathcote Botanical Gardens, this was a total success for participants. As a member, we love the gardens, largely because of such events. This year there were two new food vendors, Carrabas Restauarant and Bella Roma bakery. Both exceeded expectations as true participants of the event day. (We intend to continue our support of Carrabas and make Bella Roma our new bakery, because of this day.) As always, the plant societies and environmental groups were a wealth of valuable information. There were many new vendors and lots of interesting new plants and accessories. Demonstrations, vendors, food, and fellow-gardeners were all wonderful. And one more big thing---Thank you for welcoming our canine family members, who loved the day, too! (And thanks for having some meat they can eat, too---hamburgers were great in past and subs were okay this year---They expect to eat with us and they can't eat foods cooked with onion or mushrooms, as they are poison to them.)
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL DAY!
