Devote a few hours to walk around this place because there is so much to see. Plants of all different kinds, many that are hard to find or just impressive by their sheer size and color.
The bonsai garden is really impressive even with a 100+ year old tree.
The cats that wander the property are super friendly and will give you "a guided tour"

There is something for everyone interested in plants, flowers, and trees at Heathcote. The admission price is reasonable and the layout is very walkable. I was there during their annual plant sale and they had a huge selection available for sale. The staff and volunteers were very helpful and friendly. There is a small restaurant and outdoor eating area. All in all, Heathcote Botanical Gardens makes for a very relaxing afternoon among wonderful plants and flowers and trees.

I came here for a plant/craft sale. They also give classes here (like soap making, for one example) I thought the different sections of gardens were lovely plus they have a store!

This place is a special treat, especially if you are a bonsai lover! It's like walking through a semi-enchanted forest, in a good way, always interesting surprises along the way. It's time I go and visit again, especially for the holidays.

I'm not a lover of the great outdoors and I still enjoy Heathcote. There is a pretty collection of native plants to stroll through and enjoy. The bonsai garden is particularly enjoyable. Compact enough for a brief visit and well kept by people who are passionate for plants. I went for the annual plant show.
