“We regularly buy our orange juice here, send fruit up north, and more!”

Sign up for on-line coupons and special discounts at this wonderful local establishment. They have tours of the fruit processing, certain times of the year and it's worth it for both adults and children. Games for children, restaurant for lunch, plenty of parking. We enjoy frequenting local small businesses, who really did "build that!" We live in Fort Pierce, and we often drive a few miles to purchase things regularly, like home made fudge, a variety of ices, and naturally a wide diversity of oranges, grapefruit and other gift items. We always ship fruit to friends and family up north, each year, using only Al's Family Farms!

“A must for both vacationers and Florida residents!”

I had the opportunity to visit Al's Family Farms on a school field trip. The tour completely exceeded my expectations. The tour guides were great in giving us a mix of history and intriguing facts about the FL citrus industry. The tour included historic photos, antique citrus artifacts, and best of all juice & fruit samples!
I highly recommend the tour for all ages and don't leave without trying their orange swirl ice cream treat!

“Field Trip Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

I am a 2nd grade teacher at F.K. Sweet Magnet School and I was incredibly impressed with EVERY aspect of this tour. The students were able to play in the OJ Corral before and after the tour. At the tour’s opening the tour guides conducted a presentation that included a trivia game and photographs of Indian River’s citrus and its history in this area. They maintained a lively pace and they were animated in their interaction with the students. The tour included the students sampling an Indian River grapefruit, an Indian River Valencia orange, fresh squeezed orange juice, and Al’s delicious orange flavored ice cream. The viewing of their production plant and packing house was another fascinating aspect of the tour. I was impressed with the games and trivia questions students were challenged with. The owner was also an active participant in the tour with the game “Stump the Owner”. Every student, parent, and the teacher alike came away raving about this citrus tour. I would highly recommend it to both locals and out of town visitors.

“Delicious fruit!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

We visited the farm on April 25 and there were no more tours available, but we had a great time walking around anyway! We had my 21 month old daughter with us and she had a ball! There's a little garden/play area for children to play in, with orange races, a maze, photo opportunities and other fun stuff. The fruit is outstanding and the people who work there are incredibly sweet and nice! There is food available, but we had eaten before we got there, so we didn't have anything to eat. The fruit is reasonably priced. I will definitely be back when we go back to visit my in laws next year and hopefully we'll get a tour ticket---call ahead to see if you can get a ticket before you get there.

“Excellent tour and fruit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013

What a great tour! We had a group of 30 that drove about an hour for this tour, and it was definitely worth the drive. We learned a lot about the citrus process and fruit, and saw the wash line and packing line. We especially enjoyed the fruit and juice samples! I normally don't care much for oranges, but after tasting the juicy ones at Al's, I actually bought some oranges and juice to take home. The tour guides were great - very enthusiastic about the tour, and very kind and patient to answer any questions. Even the owner Jeff came out to talk to us and answer any questions we had. I'm sure we'll be back again! And the food at the grill looked and smelled so good, that next time our family will be sure to include that (some of the people we were with went early and ate there and said it was good as well as inexpensive)!
