Owner description: Our focus is on displaying ecosystems as complex communities of organisms interacting in their environment. At the Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, visitors can explore six different Florida marine habitats and learn about the complexity and importance of marine ecosystems. The largest aquarium is a model of a Caribbean coral reef. Other displays include living models of seagrass, mangrove, estuarine and nearshore habitats, as well as a deepwater Oculina coral reef. There are several smaller aquarium displays and a touch tank where you can meet some of our local sea creatures. Feeding Frenzy tours daily at 10:30am and Snack Time tours daily at 2:30pm. Behind-the-Scenes tour Saturday at 2:00pm.

“Great short stop, Education, Entertainment.”

Compact, but not uncomfortable. Excellent information on local marine ecosystems. The diversity of organisms is excellent, as is the 'behind the scenes' access.

“Small but educational”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

This is a small aquarium, but we really enjoyed our time here. For $3 - $4 entry fee it's an educational bargain. The touch tank area was our favorite. The staff was very helpful and answered all of our questions. There are some very nice t-shirts (we bought the sharks which change color in the sun) at reasonable prices.

“This is a gem”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

I was so pleasantly surprised by the high quality exhibits and friendly, knowledgeable staff. This is a great little aquarium. It's very well done and scientifically pretty accurate.

“Not worth it for Floridians”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

If you're a native floridian, you can see more at any local aquarium. Everyone was very nice, but the attraction itself just wasn't worth it to me. The tank glass was greenish in the corners, the variety of animals was almost nill, and it was a very small exhibit. A good learning tool for small children that perhaps have never seen aquariums.

“Small, but pleasant!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We visited the St. Lucie County Aquarium this month, and it was well worth it. It's a small place, but they have really cool exhibits. We'll be sure to visit again once we have children...probably better suited for families with young children. However, we still enjoyed it!
