Stopped on a road trip. Good atmosphere, lots of seating. NO WATER VIEWS. Very average burger with a flavorless wonder-bread type bun. Would check it out if it's convenient but do not go out of your way.

Ya gotta LOVE this place!! I love places where every square inch of wall space, and pole place and bar space are covered in funny signs and personally carved or scrawled endearments from long ago clients. Archie's encourages these endearments, and their food and atmosphere encourages their clients to return again and again! My husband and I call this a "biker bar", but only in a loving sense. Yes, there are a lot of big honkin' motorcycles in the parking lot, but you won't be able to tell who rode them there by their club colors. This is really a more laid-back family getaway place than anything else. The food is very good, standard fare - in BIG servings. No one in your party will leave hungry or complaining about the quality or service. The beer is cold, as is their white wine...so what's to complain about? On top of that, on a weekend they have entertainment ; either a small band or a DJ to go along with your very good food. The ladies who serve the food and the barmaids are well trained and accommodating. They know the menu well and will guide you along if needed. Go there on a lovely afternoon, find a shady spot and enjoy yourselves. Oh, and order their Fried Pickles! Yep...try them if you dare. They should come with a Caution Statement...they're not really hot...they're adictive!!!

Anyone in the area has to visit Archie's. Great food, great beer and great people! Try the soft-shell crab or crunchy fish sandwich - both are delicious.

We had breakfast with the kids who appreciated the somewhat unusual decor. There aren't many breakfast options and you can't really see the ocean, but the place is pleasantly laid back and positively different from the typical chain experience. Ladies note the beautiful "How to live on an Island" poem hanged at the restroom. One point to improve - instead of maple syrup we received with our pancakes some obscure "table syrup" with lots of artificials in it. Other than that it was fun.
