The hotel is really relaxing and the location is perfect! Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and was pretty spacious. It was the perfect choice for our much-needed getaway! The staff was very friendly as well. My favorite part was the fact that I could request room service on the touchscreen that is provided in the room. The menu was there and it was really easy and convenient to use. The touchscreen also had lots of information about the area on it, too, which was pretty helpful. Overall, it was a great stay and I would stay at DiamondHead again in a heartbeat!

The staff is courteous and eager to please, but entirely unhelpful when it came to fulfilling even the most basic requests. I asked the concierge to recommend a good restaurant, and she told me to eat in the hotel's dining room (the food there is inedible by the way...even the fruit...and its Florida!). I asked the bellman, at the referral of the concierge, to tell me of any places in the area that served cappuccino (the hotel does not) and he told me, "If you are looking for gourmet coffee you could try the bagel shop down road but I doubt they have it." There is no concept of service, and if you make what the staff considers "special requests," they are not only unhelpful but act as if you are spoiled. There are NO amenities. No minibar, no toothbrush, no pen, no anything.......just an empty hole of a room with mediocre cleanliness. The only people who should go here are families during the summer, who rented a car and are not interested in anything other than swimming. They should also be prepared to shop for all their needs themselves at the local supermarket, no matter how small. I should also note that there is a new spa that the staff boasts of, but its not even attached to the hotel and you need to rent a car to drive there (taxis are only used to go to the airport). In conclusion, spend an extra 500 dollars on an infinitely better and more beautiful hotel on Sanibel Island.

Used our time-share sort of on the spur of the moment, nice hotel, attractive rooms and great king-sized bed. The staff was very nice and we had a pleasant stay. Beautiful views of the ocean from our screened in balcony, pool could use some landscaping attention, but was clean and pleasant. We did not use the beach chairs, I refuse to pay $25/day, it would be ok for a couple of days but not a week. Restaurants & drinks were fine. Not connected to the hotel but just a beware to others - the casino boat is as you would expect a major rip off. They waive the fees give you a meal that was actually quite good but you pay dearly for it, we never won a penny.

My Aunt chose the DiamondHead for her beachside wedding, and I could not think of a better location! The staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating and the setting amazing.

We ended up with a corner room, which I highly recommend requesting. The breezes through both sides of the screened patio were refreshing in the summer heat. The room was spacious and well set-up, the kitchenette a plus. Just watch the edge of the patio doors, there's a lip up that isn't clearly highlited and the bride limped down the beach wtih a broken toe as a result.

The DiamondHead has a great setting, just on the edge of the touristy section of town. It was quiet enough and safe for family members of all ages to wander around. Although the ocean isn't the clearest at this point, there's a great stretch and a sandbar to wander. Plus the pool and hot tub are convenient and well maintained.

All around the DiamondHead was a plus - I'd return in a heartbeat.

It's great to wake up in the morning and look out over the gulf of Mexico and be able to walk the shore along the sand, the staff here was friendly and full of info about local spots and late night eateries that should not be missed. loved it
