“Fabulous!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2010

We travelled with our 4 boys here in July/August 2008 and I would go back TODAY!! The place is fantastic!! Our "suite" had 3 bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, AND a washer/dryer (which is a life-saver when travelling with kids)!! It was much nicer than some of the apartments I've lived in!! It was spacious enough that we weren't all on top of one another all the time, yet not overwhelmingly large either. There is a Publix down the road so we stocked up on groceries and saved on the cost of eating out for every meal. My husband and I had stayed in Ft Myers Beach a few times before and loved it, so we were anxious to give our kids a trip we knew they'd enjoy, and they DID!! There are several things to see nearby and we took advantage of that! They're begging to go back!
The ONLY downside (and that's if I'm really digging for one) would be that although this is on the beach, there's alot of beach to cross to get to the water. I had just had surgery on my knee and the walk seemed longer to me this time than the last few times, lol. I would definitely recommend this hotel/condo to ANYONE and can't wait to go back myself. Ft Myers Beach is such a friendly area and it feels like home away from home. We love it!!

I stayed here for a "girls weekend". The room was very spacious with plenty of room for the 6 of us. Loved the large kitchen and beautiful balcony views of the Gulf. Balcony is large enough to eat breakfast out there. Screened in balcony makes it hard to take pictures but appreciated it keeping the bugs out. One complaint is that the sofa bed is not the most comfortable thing, so truly sleeping 6 people was slightly less than ideal. Still, a great place to spend a relaxing beach vacation. Quieter location further away from the times square area. Pool was warm and the hot tub very relaxing. We loved it!

Everything I read about and was told by the staff was absolutely true. Our room was as clean as could be, was exactly like the pictures on the website and had everything we needed for our stay. The staff was friendly and very informative. At one point when we asked about a particular restaurant, the front desk employee not only recommended it, but gave us a coupon. When we asked about what we needed to do before checking out - again another front desk employee told us, ' you are on vacation, we will take care of the room after you are gone.' The pool area was kept very clean and was beautiful, the grounds were spotless and of course the beach was perfect. Even the fellow renting beach chairs and umbrellas (who I'm sure didn't work for the hotel) was friendly and fun.

The room was incredible with walkout balconies for both main bedroom and guestroom. You could see the beach and the pool of the hotel next to us. The screened in porches took away from a perfect view but you could still see well enough. The walk from the hotel to the ocean takes about 3 minutes which made it a little more challenging to see the 'goings on' at the beach. Bring binoculars to watch the dolphins go by twice a day.

Once you are at the beach, the dolphins are maybe 100 feet from shore. My son and I had a dolphin come within in 7 feet of us while we were wading. The water was very clear which helped us to find buried shells including conch shells. There were thousands of sand dollars too. So much wildiife where we stayed, osprey, pelicans diving for fish, seagulls and a large variety of other birds. Birds were not a bother at all but nice to see them fly around.

Very quiet where the hotel is. Not a lot of restaurants near there but you can find some within driving distance. The pool and surrounding area was very nice. No restaurants at hotel plus no room service which is why I didn't give the high marks as everyone else has. Definitely not a 5-star resort. It does have the spa and a very small workout room. The landscaping was very nice. Small lobby. They do provide morning coffee which is not really great quality at all plus they don't put it out until 8:30am. Go to Publix for your breakfast and lunch needs. The food at the two restaurants close by were very pricey and of low quality. There is a Holiday Inn with a restaurant but the food is of low quality for the price you pay. Better deals closer to the pier plus shops.

We used our rental car to get around but there is a trolley. Not sure how timely it is. On the beach, you could rent sea-dos or a sail boat for $65/half hour or $99/hour, although the seado does sit up to 3 people. They also had parasailing. There were cabanas and chairs with umbrellas to rent. Chair and umbrella was $25/day or if after 1:30pm $15/day. You could also just rent the umbrella. Not sure how much the cabanas were but they weren't too close to the beach.

But overall I had a great time. Was not too concerned that there was not a restaurant at the hotel. I would definitely go back there.

My wife have traveled a lot in our years together, and Pointe Estero exceeded our expections for a condo in every way. I did extensive online research before finding this place, and the unit we stayed in (#903-Gulf View) was absolutely spectacular. Not only was the interior outfitted beyond the normal requirements, but the views of BOTH the bay area and gulf were awesome. The views were actually BETTER with a gulf view room than a gulf front room in our opinions, because one could see a lot more in both directions. The grounds were also immaculate in every way, and had a certain "South Seas" feel with the palm trees, walkways, and rock waterfall. Staff was very friendly and attentive also. Too much so, in our case, because we were acting like teenagers and hanging out in the jacuzzi after curfew, when the "pool gestapo" guy (security guard) politely asked us to leave. ;-)
I'm dismayed by reading some of this nonsense about the beach being too far away. All that tells me is there are some very lazy people writing reviews. Part of the charm of this place is the wide beach, and it is great not to be laying or sitting right under someone's balcony. I'm a senior with a torn ACL, and it honestly took me about 3-4 minutes to walk from the pool area to the gulf waters, no longer. Great at night also - sitting out by the lapping waves and looking up at the stars in a very dark sky. Enough to get the romantic juices flowing again. ;-)
You need a car if you come to Pointe Estero, but why wouldn't you have a car in the first place in SW Florida? With no car you miss all the cool things like Sanibel Island, Edison Museum, Everglades, Corkscrew Swamp - the list goes on. If you are concerned about the cost of a car, you can save $ by shopping at the Publix a mile up the street, and getting gourmet take-out from the Sandy Butler on San Carlos Blvd, at less than half the cost it would take to eat out. There's your car $ for a week.

All in all, this rivals any condo we've stayed at , and exceeded all our expectations. My very picky wife, after our initial walk-through we always do, turned to me and said, "Kirk, you're the man!" I did good, and so will you if you pick the Pointe Estero Resort.

Traveled with another couple to Fort Myers Beach and stayed at Pointe Estero. We were very pleased with our choice.
The resort is very well maintained. The staff here also really seems to care about the guests and was happy and helpful. From the moment we checked in, and any time we stopped at the front desk the staff made you feel welcome.

The two bedroom-2 bath condo we had was perfect. Very clean and well maintained and the kitchen had everything you could need. All furnishings were comfortable and in very good shape.
The master bath was wonderful with a huge Jacuzzi tub. Both baths were spotless and in great shape. The second bath also contained a washer\dryer combo which came in handy.
The master bedroom was very large with a king bed and plenty of closet space. I think we all agreed that the only thing we would like to see changed as far as the interior of the condo went would be to replace the two twin beds in the second bedroom with perhaps two doubles.
We also loved the fact that you could access the wonderful screened balcony from any room. The view we had was perfect. We spent a great deal of time out there enjoying the weather and the view.
The walk to the waters edge was a short and we did enjoy plenty of time on the beach. The pool area at the resort was very nice as well and maintained to the same standards as the building. Gas grills were located outside the pool for grilling as well some wonderful areas to enjoy a meal outdoors.

We also enjoyed the location of this resort. While there isn’t much to do right outside the door, everything is a short car or trolley ride away. We used to trolley a couple of nights to get to the Times Square area and then had a cheap a fast cab ride back later in the evening.
I know that we would not hesitate to return to Pointe Estero. If the continue to maintain the same standards that we experienced they can’t go wrong.
